One day without warning a massive amount of trucks and equipment appeared in my subdivision that thus far had only DSL Internet service.. It was C Spire that for the next couple of weeks was installing conduit for fiber optic cable. I signed on right away and had the fiber optic cable run to my router. ( Service has been very good. I got to "1 GIG" advertised speed without running a VPN which cut my speed in half but that one is on me. Nevertheless, the Internet speed that I am getting is excellent for my needs while using secure communications. Also, C Spire does not throttle down during times of data contention. The data transmission rate is light years ahead of CenturyLink DSL and its successor Brightspeed DSL and paying less than twice the cost.

Internet speeds are fast at 5:30 am at 300+ mbs, then slow down to less than 50 mbs during the day. But the main problem is dropped internet coverage on a regular basis, with their tower being only 1/2 mile away from our house. I’ve reset their Gateway more than I can count. Their customer service staff are nice over the phone but really can’t help.

CenturyLink provides a relatively reliable high speed internet service. We have very few issues with interruptions of the service, however, it seems that our speed is not as fast as it should be. We are a tech savvy family of six that uses gaming consoles, tablets, phones, and computers; and we are usually connected to the internet all at once.

Century Link has poor service, slow internet. They have a monopoly in my area unfortunately I have to use them. Wished I could find someone else they suck. If we had ratings like this we would be out of business.
