Hughes Net offers high speed, rural broadband services throughout the country. The consumer will need to purchase or lease a satellite dish and satellite modem , both of which will be installed by a certified HughesNet installer. The modem will then be connected either directly to the consumer’s computer or to a wireless router which will convert the satellite internet connection into a wireless connection.

HughesNet offers several different internet access plans, with varying rates of uploads and downloads, so that the consumer can choose the plan that works best for their individual needs.

  • Home Plan – Comes with five included email accounts and offers download speeds of 1.0 megabits per second (Mbps) with upload speeds of 128 kilobits per second (Kbps). The Home Plan is perfect for the household that has only one user connected to the internet at any given time.
  • Pro Plan – Comes with five included email accounts and offers download speeds of 1.2 Mbps and upload speeds of 200 Kbps. The Pro Plan works best for situations where there are one to two people online at the same time and is the most popular service plan offered.
  • Pro Plus Plan – Comes with five included email accounts and offers download speeds of 1.6 Mbps and upload speeds of 250 Kbps. This plan works for both home users and small businesses that have one to two people online simultaneously.
  • Elite Plan – Comes with ten included email accounts and offers download speeds of 2.2 Mbps and upload speeds of 300 Kbps. The Elite Plan is designed for the home office and small offices and businesses; it can handle up to five users online at the same time.
  • Elite Plus Plan – Comes with ten included email accounts and offers download speeds of 3.0 Mbps with upload speeds of 300 Kbps. Able to handle up to ten people online concurrently and the consumer is able to add static IP addresses.
  • Elite Premium Plan – Comes with ten included email accounts and offers download speeds of 5.0 Mbps with upload speeds of 300 Kbps. With this plan, the consumer is able to have 10 people online at the same time.
