You, along with your fellow Maine residents, know the importance of high speed internet access – you know that it is an essential part of today’s world and without a broadband connection you’ll be left behind. But searching for an internet service provider (ISP) can be a lengthy and frustrating process: how do you decide on which connectivity technology – satellite, wireless, cable, DSL – is right for your needs? And how do you find an ISP that offers your preferred service in your area?
That’s where we come in. Just enter your street address in the box above – the one labeled “Internet Availability” – and click on the “Check Availability” button. Our search program will sort through all of the service providers and offers available in your neighborhood and provide you with a list of ISPs providing high speed internet access in your area. You can then compare the different offers and packages, while under no obligation, and make an informed purchase.
Depending on where you live, you may not have access to all types of internet connections. Residents in the state’s larger cities – Portland, Lewiston, Bangor – will likely have access to wireless, cable, and DSL internet services. But those living in the more rural parts of the state, and in the smaller cities, such as Auburn, Brunswick, Biddeford, Sanford, and Augusta, may have more limited options. And people living in rural communities or remote areas may only be able to connect through satellite internet services or dial-up connections.
ISPs serving Maine include Time Warner Cable ®, HughesNet Satellite, AT&T, and WildBlue Satellite. However, not all of these ISPs will offer service in all areas.
