Broadband Internet From Qwest

Qwest Communications International, Inc. – commonly called Qwest – offers digital subscriber line (DSL) high speed internet service in 14 states. Additionally, Qwest offers some fiber optic connection lines in limited areas.

In order to have Qwest as an internet service provider (ISP), the consumer must be within the service area. For the consumer, Qwest offers four high speed internet connection plans from which to choose. Each plan offers 25 gigabits (GB) of storage, 11 email accounts, 5 GB of email storage, and free access to Qwest Wi-Fi (provided by AT&T Wi-Fi). Additionally, Qwest offers online back-up protection for the consumer’s data at a nominal rate.

 

Qwest High Speed Internet Connection Options

  • 1.5 Megabits per second (Mbps) Plan – This plan offers downstream – that is, from the internet to the consumer’s computer – connection speeds up to 1.5 Mbps and upstream – from the consumer’s computer to the internet – connection speed of up to 896 kilobits per second (Kbps).
  • 7 Mbps Plan – This plans offers downstream connection rates of up to 7 Mbps and upstream rates of up to 896 Kbps.
  • 12 Mbps Plan – With this plan, the downstream / downloading rate can reach as fast as 12 Mbps while the upstream / uploading speed is capped at 896 Kbps.
  • 20 Mbps Plan – This plan is for fiber optic customers and has a maximum downstream speed of 20 Mbps, while the upstream rate is as fast as 896 Kbps. The 20 Mbps plan is specifically geared for small business consumers.
