"I wouldn't recommend TWC internet service to my worst enemy. I have had nothing but headaches dealing with this company. I love the cable service that TWC offers, but I really can't deal with the internet service. This company has way too many service interruptions with it's internet service. "
No other choice
"I live in an area where cable and dsl are not offered. Hughesnet is faster than dialup but expensive and do not offer anything to loyal customers. They also limit your download to around 300 mb so the tought of streaming a movie is out and there is too much lag time to use voip. They have us over a bucket, so we just have to deal with it. Just pray that nothing goes wrong with your system because it takes more than a week for a service tech to come out to fix anything. "
"I've been having to pay high bills for months and my internet is not high speed like they say!!!!"
"I have a U-verse upgraded plan and should be getting quite high speed, but when I monitor it I consistently get far less than I am rated for. I call roughly twice a year and wait for upwards of half an hour, only to be passed around before anyone can address my problem. The whole process takes over an hour of my time. They tweak something and all is good for another few months, then the slow speeds start again. I have put off changing because I do not want a new contract. We will be moving in the next year and I will certainly not choose U-verse again. At least not in the Houston area, other cities may be fine."
Not the Best
"We switched from Comcast to Verizon because we rolled off a bundle and we were having issues with our internet and cable. The door-to-door Verizon guy promised to give us a much better price. We had a special cable package, phone and fast internet speeds. Then, we rolled off of our bundle. Our bill was ridiculously priced, so we discounted our phone and got rid of all of our special stations. Plus, we reduced our internet speed, which the man reassured me would not affect a family who uses the internet frequently for wireless devices and for me to work from home as a writer. The internet is now slow, especially when we have three or four people on it at one time, and I have multiple browsers up. The price is still more than what they said. We've called so many times, but it just doesn't seem to help. "
"I do not like CenturyLink, My internet was down for a week before the fixed it, when I called I could never talk to anyone it was automated, an all it would say is they would have it repaired by the next day at 1 o'clock an finally 7 days later it got fixed. It also constantly screws up. Would love to try a new carrier."
"The service we upgraded to is incredibly fast. I think we're doing 30MB/s now.
The only problem was that with the basic package, during peak hours, the internet would get very slow.
The pricing is average for our area.
Have only had one outage in almost a year."
"Grande has about the fastest internet available in my zip code. Prices go up 2 or 3 dollars every other month, so you constantly need to re-bundle to stay ahead of their little game. Wish there was a dedicated high speed provider other than Grande who would give you a price and stay with it for at least a year. Service at Grande is a nightmare."
"Hughesnet is our only option, otherwise we would already have something else! The prices are high, the speeds are moderate, at best and fluctuate several times a day. "
"I have had Comcast for over 15 yrs speed is ok but the price is way to high there is no other providers in my area or I would switch"
