"We've built HSI from the ground up to make it easy, fast, and most of all helpful for you. It's our goal to make sure you get the best internet service, wherever you are." - Tanner Christensen, HSI Strategist
"I have ATT since I moved here and they have not yet lower the fee but higher now. Takes long time to call the tech support. More expensive then Verizon or Infinity. I only get it because My apt doesn't have other isp"
"The service is odd because I have issues staying online sometimes, but they claim there is no issue in the area. The customer service is pretty much non-existent, so I do not like calling at all. I have had a few billing inconsistencies that calling did not fix. I would switch to another provider, but there aren't many to choose from in my area."
"I see people complaining about Comcast but I have nothing but good things to say. It is arguably the best internet in the area. We've only had it go out 2 or 3 times in the 2 years we've had it and a simple phone call has cleared it up."
"The speed of the service is the best around my area. I do have the more expensive internet but I feel like it is worth it. It is a lot more expensive than the average though. I don't really have any problems and the few that I have had get fixed quickly."
"We switched from Comcast to Verizon because we rolled off a bundle and we were having issues with our internet and cable. The door-to-door Verizon guy promised to give us a much better price. We had a special cable package, phone and fast internet speeds. Then, we rolled off of our bundle. Our bill was ridiculously priced, so we discounted our phone and got rid of all of our special stations. Plus, we reduced our internet speed, which the man reassured me would not affect a family who uses the internet frequently for wireless devices and for me to work from home as a writer. The internet is now slow, especially when we have three or four people on it at one time, and I have multiple browsers up. The price is still more than what they said. We've called so many times, but it just doesn't seem to help. "
"Bright House's internet speed is great if you get the highest speed, and you will have no problems. Besides the speed, I especially love their service is excellent. Everyone I've spoken to have been chipper and ready to take care of all my needs. It is a really great service overall."
"I've had Comcast as my internet provider for years, and the ONLY reason I haven't left is because there aren't really other options in my area. Every couple of months Comcast will randomly jack up my bill for no reason, so I have to spend ours trying to get a hold of someone to fix it, threaten to leave, and then they might lower it back down. Even when you get real people they sound automated, and try so hard to help that they never answer your questions or really listen to what you're saying. I'm still looking for a way out. You've been warned."
"My download speeds are consistently above 21 Mbps. I never have any problem streaming several HD devices at a time. My only complaint is that stand-alone internet cost is pretty pricey & I have no need to bundle their other services."
"I simply LOVE Centurylink...everything about it! I've ALWAYs been met with courteous and qualified Customer Service Representatives and have resolved every issue I've ever had quickly and professionally. I especially love the computer protection that I bundled with my home phone & internet and I've relied on that a few times when I've contracted computer viruses. I will never forget when my computer was LOCKED DOWN by the supposed "FBI" for "illegal downloading activity" (I NEVER download anything-I'm the most inept person when it comes to that sort of thing) I was instructed by the "FBI" that if I wanted my computer back, I would pay them $300. through "GREENDOT"! I had flashbacks of previous viruses and the thought of lugging my computer (yes, I'm one of the last Americans that still use a desktop) to my local Computer Guy (who has lost a computer on me), hundreds of dollars (I didn't have) and DOWNTIME (I couldn't bear the thought!)But when I called Centurylink in a panic my fears were immediately put to rest when "Danny" gave me a few simple instructions and took over by remote to clean my computer and made it new again! The prices were the most competitive at the time I signed up AND there was NEVER any contract/handcuffs. I just wish it was available in more places. Best of all, I don't feel like I'm doing my ISP a favor by using (AND PAYING THEM)for their service-I actually feel like a valued customer...unfortunately a rarity in this day & age. Centurylink link has provided FOR me...and this is my ONE & ONLY bill I pay every month where I feel like I'm getting the most for my money!"
"I love it. They have the cheapest prices for the providers allowed in my community. I am paying less for my internet(higher speed) and cable then I was with just internet on another provider. The person who hooked it up was very curtious and friendly. He gave me his cell phone number and said if I had any questions, needed help or wanted to upgrade my service to give him a call. He said he'd be more then willing to assist and has shown so. The service has far exceeded my expectation. The internet speed is right at or better then promised. "
"Buckeye Cablesystem is horrible. They're high priced and will consistently try to over charge you. I ask them multiple times to pick up my cable box after I dropped it and kept the internet. They said they would but didn't. The very next month they tried charging me $650 for it and $10 for the remote. I went to AT&T Uverse and am paying the same price for cable and internet(higher speed) then I was with just internet with buckeye."
"Paying almost $80 per month for what is supposed to be 25 mbps and only getting 4.54 ( download time). Freezes all the time while streaming tv shows. Customer service is not good either been given two different stories on the situation more than once. Never had these problems with Comcast. Paid $30 a month for 15 mbps and never had a problem. Hoping Comcast comes to our area here soon = ("
"Their basic "hi speed" internet is about $30 a month and is Okay at best, it feels like dial-up speeds, cuts out constantly, and if you occasionally want to check FB and want to watch nextflix on the lowest quality then this would be your choice, but if you use the internet for things like online gaming, watching hi-res videos (netflix, youtube HD), etc. your only choice is to upgrade to their $60 plan which is pretty fast and reliable, but i would look to cable companies like charter to get better pricing and speeds. These are my personal opinions and encounters, others may have different standpoints on the service."
"A great price for fantastic speeds. More bandwidth than we could ever use and we're very heavy users with online FPS-heavy gaming, 2 devices streaming video and frequent downloading (often all simultaneously), we've never had a problem. No issues with billing, but we have their electric as well and have had to deal with customer service on that account and have been satisfied. Getting connected is super-easy and free as long as you keep the service for a year. We LOVE EPB!"
"I have had their internet for a while. Jumped for it when I found out they first released it in my town. Hooked right up. A few hickups here and there but reliable internet. Their service tends to not work well with youtube as I can tell. I currently have their 12mb upgraded from 6mb. They have great deals. Upload is very poor for the download speed."
"Insight is the devil. They have a monopoly in Louisville, KY and abuse it to the fullest. The speeds are unreliable at best (I've hardly had a connection for the past 12 hours) and prices outrageous. Louisville deserves options!"
"So far that service has been steady, fast and no problems. I've used other services like ATT who just don't know what customer service is. Astound is easy to deal with. We are all online all the time and use internet for everything. Keep up the great service!"
"I have been with this provider for about five years, only because I can't get anything else. I pay my bill on time and without fail, yet when I call due to excessive speed loss or other issues, I am told that they can't do anything or they will turn in a work order. This is followed up by no response until I continue to call repeatedly. Even then I am again told that they are working to resolve any problems, but no info as to how long I can expect any better performance. When I say speed loss, it is so slow that I am unable to even log in to my email. I ran multiple speed tests via speedtest.net and for several days my speed was "ping from 346 to1072, download from 0.38 to 0.92, and upload from 0.02 to 0.16. This is with a service speed of 3.00. The first day I said nothing, thinking it would be resolved shortly. Second day I called the help desk to which I was told a work order would be issued. The third day I waited most of the day, giving them ample time to contact me with any information. At the end of the day I called and was told they had no idea that I called, but would get with the tech and have them get back to me. Again I waited most of the next day until I again called the help desk, and was told they could not help beyond the work order already turned in. I asked that my account be noted of my call, and be noted of continued problem, and that if I am not receiving the service I am paying for then I should not be responsible to pay. Finally, I received a call from Heartland Net after four days. I was informed that an effort was being made. I asked for an ETA of even some service. The response was "I hope soon". My response was again that I should not have to pay for service that I am not receiving. I was informed that if I don't pay for my service it would be terminated. I ended the call with the intention of finding another ISP. Of course, they must know that there are really no other options in my area. As I stated, I did my speed test via speedtest.net. Therefore, I have a record of the results of the test and a record as to how bad the problem is."
"I live out in the country, they are my only options. Have been with them over 4 years. At first service was good, kids could game online. Then I decided to add their phone service. Internet went down hill, you could only hear half of the conversation. 6 months ago I really started complaining. Tech's came out, hooked up to different tower and added new equipment. Work good for a couple days. I now find myself calling them every other day. I have shut off my phone service with them hoping this would help internet connections.(only to call back two days later and find out tech did not even complete order) Up graded twice ti higher mega bit plans. I find that I spend more time on hold waiting for a tech to tell to unplug this and then that. If I remember correctly, dail up offered better service. Would not recommend this provider."
"I have been looking into other internet service providers because Cox's plan is too pricey for what they give you. They are a huge organization and it is hard to complain because you are literally paying for what you see and have no choice in doing so because that is the plan they offer. Even when you buy a good plan, you are paying too much for what you get. So i am forced to buy their lowest plan to test it out and it is god awful.I never knew a change in 14 dollars a month would make a humongous difference. They shouldnt offer that plan unless you are 80 years old and have nothing else to do online. 14 dollar difference a month gives you this slow internet actually makes me want to go outside for a change. anyways i am telling you all that, their lowest plan is a waste of money and i could get better internet at starbucks. So pretty much everyone is forced to pay for their preferred plan. 50 plus dollars a month for workable internet is a rip off, but they are a reliable company."
"For those of us with Low Income, Cox is just getting too expensive. Their service and services are outstanding in the field; but just not affordable for those with limited incomes. Too bad I have to leave ..."
"i am satisfied with the service provided but not with the price because of the area we live in tw has a lock on internet intenet speed and rather than give us a break in price for better service and speed they gouge us. i had turfor speed for $35 and programing service when icancled my programing service the price jumped from 35 to 50 and the speed dropped to 10 or less thats what i call taking advantage of a old customer???????? thank you dave sellery"
"Nothing like calling a phone and internet company and never getting to talk to a person. I so love the loop that one is put through before ever getting to actually talk to a grown up. Asking for a supervisor is like mating elephants. There is a lot of noise and it takes 18 months to get any results. If you do have a problem and your internet or phone is down for a few days and finally speak to someone at least you get a compensation offer of $5.00 off your next bill. wow not impressed"
"During peak time hours the speeds remind me of my first dial up service. Best time is between 12 and 5 am and even that is lagging. Signed a contract for unlimited data within a year they put a 20G cap on it. I personally wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless you like getting screwed. "
"I've been with Cox since 2005 and 7 years later, I still love it. The speeds are great at any time of the day, pricing is better than the alternative (FIOS), and have never had a problem with their customer service. Overall, I consider myself lucky for having Cox as the sole provider in our area."
"In the beginning they were great. Then they put in a new Quick Trip about 3 blocks down the road. All of the sudden the internet, cable and phone would not stay up during peak times of the day. It took them 3 months to figure it out. They would come out, fix it at the house, they tell us to call if we had more problems. When we had more problems, they would come out, fix it at the house then tell us to call. It took about 4 or 5 guys to finally figure out that it wasn't at our home, at all. It was on the hub that they put the QT on. They had to switch us off that hub and it has been perfect ever since."
" This company refuses to provide the services they charge for. I have had technicians attempt to fix the problems at least 25 separate occasions, yet to no avail. I have to pay for a land line that I dont even use just to have internet that ranges around .5 Mbps on the best days, with constant disconnects and extremely unstable speeds. This company owns the lines in my area, and is the only option available for me, and they know it. I have begun filing complaints with the BBB, the FCC and the PSC, simply to be able to stream a movie once a week with my family at a cost of over $75 per month! The service department is arrogant and dismissive, the "technician" that covers my area is quite obviously unqualified or simply does not care. They often skip appointments, without notice, when my wife takes off of work to be home. Avoid them at all costs!!!!!!"
"We have had Skybeam WISP since they bought out PVCo (WWW.PVCO.NET), which we were very happy with especially for uptime and responsiveness to our few customer concerns. Since Skybeam took over, there have been at least three long-lasting outages. We don't regularly get the download speed we are paying for/promised. Forget streaming video, making us part of the digital divide. We'd love to use Netflix or DISH online. Customer service with billing department is excellent. Customer service with technical calls are courteous but frustrating b/c much time is spent so they can try to prove the problem is on our end. They routinely suggest our router is the problem. The last time I called b/c an outage occurred while I was online, the technician spent 45 minutes trouble-shooting. He couldn't determine cause and set a technician appointment for 7 days in the future, the earliest they could come to the house. An hour later, a recorded message on Skybeam's phone announced known outage in our area. This lasted for 5 days. Back in April, it took 13 days for a service call to our house. we are currently exploring alternatives."
"I have had Skybeam since they bought out Partnership Broadband, which was AWESOME! Ever since Skybeam took over, there has been outages, dropped connections, S L O W transfer speeds - forget streaming video - and rotten customer service. They reassign a new IP address at a whim, without any schedule I am able to decipher, and every time it is changed, my speed drops even slower. I am looking for a good provider for a decent price. Yeah, I know. "Good Luck" to me!"
"I recently moved and had Century Link service hooked up at my home. It has been the worst few days ever. I have spent numerous hours on the phone with them trying to get my phone service to work. I have been argued with and screamed at and when they did send out a technician he refused touch anything inside of my home. On my initial phone call to them for service I was transfered 3 times and was quoted a different price from wach individual. Thats pretty much how they work they will just tell you that the other employee gave you incorrect information they have the worst customer service ever. One of the Technicians that came out ran a phone line out my front window to the phone interface box and left me unable to close and lock my window for an entire weekend, when I called the service rep told me that everything seemed to be fine. I was shocked."
"Installation is very involved because fiber cable is being run from the street all the way to the home. The process isn't difficult for the customer but a lot of work for the installers. Installers ran Ethernet throughout my home exactly where requested. Speeds have been awesome. I have 50M and never have any slowdowns or glitches."
"I have had DSL and Cable internet and cable clearly is the choice if you want a reliable download speed. I consistently pull 15+mbps down and 6+mbps up. We don't have the option of fiber optics in Salt Lake City. But the price of cable is hard to beat for the speed. "
"Service has improved. We used to have many more outages and interruptions. Customer service has improved substantially. The telephone staff are still not pleasant to deal with overall. They can be haughty. The wait time has diminished considerably. It used to be h o u r s . Currently, the price seems exorbitant. I pay over $62 a month in total for high speed internet alone; no cable television or telephone in this amount. Am exploring other options. Unfortunately, there are too few. Would have switched providers long ago otherwise."
"Their DSL (512mb )is NOT fast enough to watch streaming video and they do NOT have anything faster available. The only thing good about it is that it is faster than dial-up. AND they have a monopoly on the service for my area... Disappointing--checking into satellite service...."
"In a nutshell, I have had the techs out to the house too many times. At one point, I pointed out that the techs had been out 6 times in two and half months and the customer service rep said that didn't seem like very many. We've had multiple problems and just when we think it is fully fixed, I now find out someone on their end has changed my log in phone number to my cell phone number and that's why I have been locked out of my account. And I had to find that out by taking a guess as to what the problem was since it has been 4 days since they "fixed" the log in problem. Once I was able to get into the account, I see they have reverted back to an old billing address that hasn't been used for 5 years. Pretty much bad service and technical issues since we began. Including one time when they sent our account to collections because they forwarded the wrong account number."
"My apartment forces me to use CenturyLink and the experience has been a mixed bag. Whenever I have had an issue it really depends on who answers the phone if I will get help or not. Much of their staff seems under-trained."
"Comcast's speed is OK, unless its the evening or the weekend and then its really lagging. For the price its pretty bad. They are the only internet provider in our area so there isn't much else available. If you have the option to get them and someone else, pick someone else!"
"Time Warner Cable's speeds are up to par. I usually get about 1mbps downloading, so it's not so bad. It's kind of pricey compared to some of the more affordable solutions out there. But I feel that Time Warner Cable is the best my area has to offer."
"Cable connection is fine outside of outages, but the wireless signal seems to drop the connection at least every other day. You simply reset but it is annoying and frustrating if you are in the middle of something. "
"I have my internet service with Mediacom. I prefer Mediacom over anyone else because I have had service for many years, and I have never had a problem that could not be solved through customer service. I have phone, internet and cable with Mediacom for a reasonable price. My family is all for Mediacom!"
"I have Comcast , wich i think is great because the speed , the service and price are so accesibile for everyone. I am very happy with this company. One more thing, if you have trouble with your internet they can fix it right away by phone or sending someone real quick. Thank you Comcast."
"I really like my internet provider. The speed is really fast since its cable internet and not DSL. They also have really good customer service. The man who set up the internet did it really fast and was done within an hour. They are also reasonably priced too. I think I will recommend them to my family and friends who are looking into changing service providers. Hopefully they will choose Comcast. The only problem though that I have found with them is that sometimes the internet cuts out, but that really isn't a very big deal since it can be fixed quite easily."
"I have used Cox High Speed Internet for years. They seem to be the fastest in my neighborhood. With DSL being so limited and 3G hotspots dragging on, I think this is my best option. Keep in mind there are other providers in the area that do not service this neighborhood. I'm wondering if 4G wireless will even hold a candle to the +10MB a second Cox's network provides us. I find the speeds often flux depending on if my neighbors are home. Apparently we all share the same larger connection. In a world where technology rules, I'm glad that they at least have good customer service."
"Overall I am happy with the services that I get with Cable vision. My internet speed is fast and reasonably priced. I have not encountered any problem with their service. Anytime I have had to schedule a repair they have arrived on time and were very professional.I have tried other internet service providers but have found Cable vision to be the best in my area. They also offer a wide variety of movies and great programming. I also am happy with the phone service I receive with Optimum Voice. They offer over twenty call features. From anonymous call blocking to enhanced voice mail I have never had a phone service that had so many useful call features. I would definitely recommend Cable vision to anyone."
"I live in an area where cable and dsl are not offered. Hughesnet is faster than dialup but expensive and do not offer anything to loyal customers. They also limit your download to around 300 mb so the tought of streaming a movie is out and there is too much lag time to use voip. They have us over a bucket, so we just have to deal with it. Just pray that nothing goes wrong with your system because it takes more than a week for a service tech to come out to fix anything. "
"Customer service provider is of very good quality and with less amount of time. Whenever there is a change in the address, they schedule it very quick for the service start up and always stick to the time. Price is affordable since the offer a management is up to date and brings up the good affordable price from time to time .But the service these days is going on and off intermittently which is causing lot of irritation and lot of manual effort from our side to reboot the modem and outer. Due to this our other service are getting affected since our telephone and TV are entirely dependent on internet service."
"Cox highspeed internet is relatively good. For the most part, when we are connected, we have no problems downloading at pretty high speeds. However,we pay for the preferred service but we are unable to connect to games like Halo:Reach to play online multiplayer. Our connection is, somehow, too slow for us to be able to play with other people online. Every now and then our Netflix takes awhile to load, but, for the most part, we rarely have issues playing movies or tv shows on Netflix. I believe we will be calling to change our service to the one below because we are paying around $50 a month but are unable to play games...so we might as well downgrade."
"I love time warner cable's internet service and they do a great job telling me how to connect to my internet through my username and also my phone number as well. they also have high speeds as well and I think that is what is sought out most in an internet service provider and I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking for internet service for their first time"
"I am for the most part pretty happy with the service we receive from Comcast but I really do feel that we don't get what we pay for. The prices are really high. We do get some outages and speed drops which makes streaming tough at times but not for long. I have considered switching but only to find they have a monopoly on my area so there are no other options. Customer service is pretty great though, they have helped troubleshoot problems that aren't even related to their service or equipment. Like I said, the prices could/should be better."
"I have used many Internet Service Providers over the 14 years I have been online. Names like EarthLink, NetZero, AOL, Time-Warner and now Verizon. I have to say that compared to the others I have used, Verizon gives me better speed, service and a slightly better value than the other ones did. If I have a problem connecting, Verizon helps me troubleshoot the problem right away and have friendly and knowledgeable customer service and tech support. I have DSL enhanced and am quite happy with it as well. The monthly price is adequate and affordable. Overall, I would recommend Verizon to anyone. "
"I've been with CenturyLink for almost 2 years, formerly they were known as Qwest. Their pricing is pretty reasonable however the fastest internet speed they offer in my area is a measly 10mbps. When I first moved here my first course of business was to get the fastest internet possible. I was used to getting over 25mbps at my old location, so I found their 10mbps offering to be a tad bit disappointing. I would gladly pay considerably more for faster internet. On the positive side, any issues I've had were fixed extremely quickly and the issues I've had have been far and few between, so at least their network is rock solid!"
"Frontier Broadband is a great internet service provider. I used dialup internet service for years and just became a customer of Frontier in the last year. I was afraid that high speed internet or DSL, was not affordable. It was also not available for my area yet. I got so tired of the slow speed of dialup so I decided to call Frontier. Their customer service were very friendly and they came to my house in just a few days and set up my internet connection with them. I have not had any problems with connecting with the internet or any slow speeds since then. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting a very reliable internet service provider."
"I've had problems with my internet going out and have to check my connection or reboot the system at least 2 to 3 times a week. The speed is not great had them test it but at the price I pay I don't expect a great speed. In order to get a great speed I would have to upgrade my internet services, that's just a little to steep for me so I just keep what I have. I have the DSL service so I thought at least the speed would be better than what I get. If things don’t change soon I will have to find another service provider."
"The service we upgraded to is incredibly fast. I think we're doing 30MB/s now. The only problem was that with the basic package, during peak hours, the internet would get very slow. The pricing is average for our area. Have only had one outage in almost a year."
"I've never had any real problems with my service from Comcast. It's gone out twice in the last 3 years, but only for a couple hours and they fix it right away. And every time I've called, they give me a window when the problem will be fixed and it's usually faster than they predict. It's a little pricey, but the speeds I get are great and Comcast is easy to deal with."
"I am using this Reliance Netconnect for a long time and I am satisfied with the speed and performance of the service provider. Also their customer care service is also excellent as they resolve any queries or problems regarding their connection as soon as they can."
"I feel very worst to my internet connection speed."
"Our service was generally reliable and quick then about 6 months ago we started having issues with streaming Netflix - the quality would adjust up or down every few minutes. We called Comcast and asked them to up our speed, they did so without interrogation and we've been more than happy ever since. "
"Comcast offers the best speeds in my area when purchasing a business package. I had some technical problems at first getting the business suite hardware to work with my airport/time machine. Ultimately their customer service failed me completely and I ended up troubleshooting the issue myself. Initial set-up aside, the service has been good."
"When I first moved to Salt Lake CLEAR said they didn't cover my area. However, after talking to a sales manager at one of their sales events he showed me that they did, in-fact, cover where I lived. Since then I've had CLEAR for two years and loved it. Occasionally the service will go down (since it is wireless), but customer service is always great and very timely in getting back to me on updates and news. I recommend CLEAR."
