Broadband From SkyWay USA
SkyWay USA offers high speed internet access throughout the 48-contiguous states via satellite. At present coverage is not available in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
A hybrid design, SkyWay USA uses satellite dishes, satellite modems, and existing telephone lines to provide internet access in rural communities. Many rural homeowners have been limited to dial-up internet access, but now, with the advent of satellite coverage, rural consumers have the ability to connect to the internet with broadband speeds.
As part of the SkyWay USA package, the consumer will need to install a satellite dish antenna, though professional installation and alignment is available at cost to the consumer. The consumer will also need to install a special satellite modem and run coaxial cables from the dish into the residence. Pointing and tuning of the satellite dish is done with the assistance of a beeper system, which is included in the installation package.
As is true for most internet connections via satellite, there is the potential for there to be atmospheric interference, primarily from rain and snow, which can negatively affect the quality of service.
SkyWay USA also offers dial-up connections for those times when the satellite connection is not available because of the weather. While the dial-up connection will not be as fast as the high speed internet connectivity provided by the satellite connection, it will allow the consumer to connect to the internet.
SkyWay USA offers several connection packages and speeds for the consumer to choose from. All of the pricing / service tiers come with five email accounts included.
