"We've built HSI from the ground up to make it easy, fast, and most of all helpful for you. It's our goal to make sure you get the best internet service, wherever you are." - Tanner Christensen, HSI Strategist
HughesNet's high speed satellite Internet is affordable, reliable, allows you to always be online, and available virtually anywhere (including the remote regions of the contiguous United States). HughesNet is one of the leading satellite Internet service providers in America.
Hughes Net offers high speed, rural broadband services throughout the country. You will need to purchase or lease a satellite dish and modem, both of which will be installed by a certified HughesNet installer. The modem will then be connected either directly to your computer or to a wireless router which will convert the satellite Internet connection into a wireless connection.
HughesNet offers several different Internet access plans, with varying rates of uploads and downloads, so that the consumer can choose the plan that works best for their individual needs.
Basic Plan - Download speeds of up to 1.0 Mbps and upload speeds of 200 Kbps.
Power 150 Plan - Download speeds of up to 1.2 Mbps and upload speeds up to 250 Kbps.
Power 200 Plan - Download speeds of up to 2.0 Mbps and upload speeds up to 300 Kbps.
In addition to the monthly price, HughesNet charges for equipment and installation of the satellite Internet equipment. HughesNet frequently offers additional rebates and cash back to help bring the price of the service down.

"I live in an area where cable and dsl are not offered. Hughesnet is faster than dialup but expensive and do not offer anything to loyal customers. They also limit your download to around 300 mb so the tought of streaming a movie is out and there is too much lag time to use voip. They have us over a bucket, so we just have to deal with it. Just pray that nothing goes wrong with your system because it takes more than a week for a service tech to come out to fix anything. "
