Broadband Internet from MSN Dial-Up

Microsoft Network (MSN) offers consumers, nationwide, access to the internet via their Dial-Up Plan. The consumer will need a home computer, a telephone modem, and an active telephone line in order to use the MSN Dial-Up Plan.

Like all dial-up connections to the internet, speeds are not as fast as those provided by cable, digital subscriber line (DSL), satellite, wireless, or fiber-optic connections, being capped at 56 kilobits per second (Kbps). However, MSN dial-up does offer a download accelerator, which increases the speed at which web pages are viewable.

Services Included with MSN Dial-up High Speed Internet
The MSN Dial-Up Plan offers many different features as part of their high speed internet connection. Included are:
  • Webroot Spy Sweeper, which checks for spyware and phishing attempts
  • McAfee personal firewall plus, with virus guard, spyware, and hacker prevention
  • MSN Photos Plus program
  • MSN Connection Center for easily connecting to the internet.

MSN Dial-Up Metered Plan
MSN also offers a limited-access metered plan for those internet users that are not regularly online. The Metered Plan is set for 20-hours of monthly internet access. Any online usage in excess of 20-hours is billed at an hourly rate.
