Never deal with this company they raise your bill over charge you and talk to you like a dog when you call..!!! They think they are the only ones that provide Internet service but they are wrong that's why they talk to the customers like they do..!! I was trying to call them about getting a technical issue fixed and I was passed around from person to person and then hung up on. I tried calling again and they passed to the wrong department again. Also they would not honor the original deal they said we could have for the duration of our service with them.

When I called to check on service availability the Customer Service Rep was rude, could not explain what was necessary for me to check service at my address, and then hung up on me after stating she "had enough." If this is the way the company treats potential new customers then I am certainly not going to buy anything from them and would not recommend them. How stupid is this company to allow Customer Service Reps to hang up on people who simply ask about service availability?

Would never recomend them to anyone. I will be switching providers tomorrow. We were told we have the best package they offer been paying for said package. Just to be told they can upgrade us for more. Customer service is horrible they never help. That's even if you can get a hold of someone. Called support just to be told they are closed. Gave me a number for 24/7 support just to be given yet another number to call. This happened about 8 different numbers. Each time getting hung up on. Finally got a hold of someone. They told me I dont have internet because bill is past due which the bill was paid. Showed online that it was paid and next bill not due til the end of the month. They wont turn it back on until I pay a month ahead of the due date. Do yourself a favor and frustration and stay away from century link.

Horrible customer service! Centurylink scheduled with me more then two weeks in advance to upgrade my service. They specified a date to do upgrades, my husband took the morning off work as centurylink representatives said the representatives would be at my house between 8am and noon. No phone call yet no one showed up. My husband called centurylink to find out what was going on and he could not get an answer. He was sent from person to person and no one could answer why the representative was not here. When evening hit of course we get a response that the office that deals with this is closed you will have to call back tomorrow. We more often then not have no internet service and have been told repeatedly we would get a credit on our account since we pay for internet but can not use it, but in all the months we have been dealing with this we have yet to receive a credit. If you can possibly use a different phone service I would recommend you go with anyone else!

OK when it works, but unsatisfactory customer service. Have been a no-show for two straight weeks on appointment for scheduled replacement of modem and upgrade, which entails installing a new box outside. Was told 8:00-5:00. Was told by online chat at 3:45 that tech was on the way. Was called at 4:45 and told I was "unscheduled" and the next available appointment isn't for almost 3 weeks. Completely unacceptable.

The service is poor, our internet goes out almost weekly for no reason at all. I could understand if there where a storm or construction or some type of event to cause it but there never is. The really "great" part though, is when we call to have them fix it. We do this so often we know the script but because their systems are so messed up and their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced we end up on the phone for 30-45 minutes almost every time. I could tolerate the language barriers and the struggles to fix our service over the phone but the rude and almost hateful attitude that we get on a pretty regular basis is extremely frustrating.

I have never been so poorly treated by ANY service provider in my 46 years on this planet. I was overcharged,double billed, turned over to a collection agency all because I couldn’t cancel their horrendous service.It literally was the worst experience I’ve had with ANYTHING. They are number one on my list of hated companies!WOW!Just a guess but I had to talk to 10 different reps just to try and straighten out a bundling package, worst experience of my life! I have had a lot of cheap internet services over the years and I feel I have a pretty high tolerance to problems. Centurylink has tested this tolerance on a regular basis. Slowdown, outages and other random acts are fairly common. Not enough to call a tech, but something that will have you resetting your modem and doing the "trying to get my internet to work" song and dance. If you do call more than likely the issue will vanish and nothing will be done to prevent it from comming back. I am lucky that I get my internet fairly cheap, all due to a promotional deal that has my $50 a month plan for 1.5mbs for only 16.99 a month. Without that discount there is no way I could recomend this service to any one. Something even the Centurylink tech seems to agree since when ever I see them they seem to ask if I thought of switching to comcast as they service my area constantly because of the old apartment buildings are full of bad wiring. When your tech support guy is trying to tell you to switch services you know it's bad. My promotion runs out in about 5 months, I don't think I'll renew it. $50 a month for barely above dial up speeds is not worth it in the slightest.

My experience with CenturyLink has been very disappointing and frustrating. The "high speed Internet" they offer is not high speed. The connection fails often to make matters worse. In addition, I had a problem with the billing. The money I paid went to the wrong account number and even though I tried talking to many different people at CenturyLink, I could not get my money back. They kept the money that was sent to the wrong account and charged me again for the correct account. When you call to get help with billing, they keep passing you off to someone else, and in the end, no one will help you. My bank even tried to intervene and help me get the money back and they couldn't either. Don't use CenturyLink, it has horrible customer service!

I can say that my phone service never gets interrupted. That's the good. And the only good. Internet is constantly going down. Call and complain and nothing is done. They charge outrageous amount of money just to have the modem. Our bill is constantly going up - read monthly. Call to try to get it reduced, and your left bouncing around from person to person for hours on end.

I cancelled after one week because our service wasn’t working and we called a tech and they never called or showed. When I cancelled they had our address wrong 3 times and I’ve called those 3 times to try and get our modem returned and every time they can’t figure out how to get the right address. Do not waste your time. These people are incompetent. I booked to have internet installed. They told me someone would be there to activate it in 4 days. The 4th day ends and I call to find out what is going on. Apparently now my appointment is in a further 10 days. I cancelled and went with a different company. On the 14th day a modem arrived WHICH I WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO GET AS I TOLD THEM I HAD MY OWN. THEN I get a bill for internet services. Have tried calling but billing is closed. Their line refers you to online chat but apparently they're not taking chats at the current time. This company is ridiculously incompetent and I'm glad I ended up going with someone else.

Anyone that rates centurylink 5 stars is either paid or hasn't had service for very long. They slow down your service, when service drops (which happens frequently) they are slow getting it fixed and customer service leaves plenty to be desired.

Although Century Link boasts that they have the fastest speed and service...they don’t. We’ve had two different tech guys that come over and say that the service is sketchy in Cheyenne. It drops for no reason. One day it will be ok and the next day it won’t even allow my grandson to connect with online friends. Pricing? You need to watch your bill because just because you got the great Low rate doesn’t mean you’ll ever be able to get it again. My rate has increased to quadrupled and that’s just for internet. I’m always trying to get a better rate with reliable service. Guess I’ll keep looking.

I have been a CenturyLink customer for several years. While I am pleased with the new pricing options and the internet speed I receive, I am very unsatisfied with the overall service. My internet goes out at least every other month. When it went out a few days ago I was told it was going to be 6 days before a technician could come out. That is completely unacceptable especially when you are paying for a service that you are not receiving. We use our internet for TV, my at home business, and for my children to do their homework. Unfortunately, there are no other internet providers in my area!

CenturyLink does not care about providing quality service to it's customers in Wahkiakum County. Not only is their internet slow and phone quality scratchy and poor, but they never do service or maintenance here. One of the poles holding up their phone lines was hit by a car in December 2017 and severed in half, and CenturyLink still hasn't replaced it, nearly 3 months later.

I understand that internet can be difficult to deal with for providers at times. But if I can’t get my service as it is promised in their advertising I feel like I’m paying for problems and it becomes very frustrating. Century Link has very poor customer service. You will wait for long periods of time and when you finally get to talk to someone they will not be able to help you. Every evening and off and on during the day the internet goes out. And it goes off and on all evening long. At times it goes out for longer periods of time. I’ve been told that they can’t fix it until 2-4 days later. I am going to change providers.

Plan on every 12 months your bill becoming twice as much, You can get it lowered, but you will get gigged for that one month. To me, this is stealing billing you an amount not agreed upon, and then charging you for that one month because it is already billed.

If you've ever had xfinity and you switch to century link you will definitely be disappointed. The speeds cant even compare and the prices are about the same. If you have a android box or fire stick for cable your shows will buffer. It won't buffer all of the time and to be fair if I'd a never had xfinity then century link would be great. I guess with xfinity you get a lil spoiled and xfinity cable is definitely more expensive than direct tv . The quality of their internet is great!

Centurylink was okay. The biggest problem was customer service is absolutley terrible. They did notvstand by their word and evertime you call you get different answers to the same questions. It became too much of an issue, so ultimatley we ended up canceling our service with them. We had been faithful, paying customers for 8 years but they didnt seem to care, or do anything to keep us as customers.

Every night at about 11:00PM any internet connection becomes choppy to unresponsive. Called CenturyLink several times, the best answer (try not to laugh), the "tech" told me the problem was wiring in my house! If I could have, I'd have cut her phone and told her, "that's a wiring problem!". I think CenturyLink is abandoning services outside the urban areas and when enough people drop the service, they'll tell the state that there's not enough business to continue.

I have now been on the phone for over an hour with three different people. This is not uncommon. The internet is shotty at best. I cannot even have my other devices on if I want to watch Netflix . Not only that but as I am on hold right now they are saying no one can come out until January 8th. Umm...It's December 26th!! We have tried to get them out here before on six occasions...Three of which my wife stayed home from work and guess what...Mail man was here, trash guys were here, even the stray dog from down the street came by but no century link (ALL SIX TIMES.) Do not go through them. There is absolutely no way they are that busy and can't come sooner,if at all, because we always see their trucks out and the guys are just sitting alongside a road without a care in the world. We want to cancel but feel we should not have to pay because we are never getting what we pay for even when we upgrade. Absolutely ridiculous. I could keep going but I care about my blood pressure too much. Good luck if you have signed your soul to these people.

I have had centuryLink for six years, and I had outage just once. Unfortunately, I just discontinued my service 2days ago, because my bill keep going up, even when they said , I was given discount for a year to lower my bill. I call them each time I receive a billing statement , but they either , transfer my call to the wrong person, or pretent they fixed the problem. There are a bunch of liars, and unqualified staff in centuryLink. NEVER use them , if you have an option.

The service has been absolutely horrible. To fix our problems they have demoted the speed of the DSL and it is still horrid. I have spoken to many people and they alike have given negative feedback. If CenturyLink is your only option, you can deal with their bad service and horrible customer service. I am going to say hello to a bit more cost and over 10x the speed. hello CableOne.

I have both phone and internet with Centurylink for the last 6 months. During that time they have been out to repair the line 6 times. Their reliability on a scale of 1 to 10 is about 0. The support and repair people are nice, but they should spend more on making things work rather than people to take complaints. If one wanted a profession with job security, then a Centurylink repair person would be it.

I have been having a problem with my service for my phone, internet and TV for several weeks. Last month I spent days without service and was told it was fixed. This month the problem is starting again. Called trying to get a technician to come out the past 2 days and have been told they are behind on "tickets" and not sure if they can come even today. In the mean time, I do get apologies from the staff I speak with but their hands are tied. CenturyLink needs to look at their service line and pull recourses to accommodate the influx of "tickets". The hope the CEO reads these commits and listens to his customers.

I have had CenturyLink as a provider since moving here this past august. I have telephone and Internet through them. The internet has never functioned. I am being billed for services not provided. After multiple calls to them and multiple visits from service technicians, I still don't have internet. I am fed up. The contact I signed with them obligates me for two years. I am concerned that if I quit them, I will get slammed with fees and penalties. Yet, they have not lived up to their end if the deal. I fear I will have to seek the advice of legal counsel.

How do they have over 1 star? Absolutely horrible. Once they have your money they don't care if you have internet service or not. They came out to try to fix the service. It went from bad to no signal at all. Now they tell me that the reason I have no signal is on my end and they won't touch my end. If they didn't touch my end how did it become broken while they were working on the system? They are either lying about the problem being on my end or lying about the fact that they came out and screwed up the wiring in my house and now take no responsibility.

The service was trouble. They came out to my place 4 times in a week and half just to hookup the service to my Condo. Internet service is very poor. I'm paying for a certain speed but am only getting 45% of the 1.5 speed. I have called them 2 weeks ago again and they sent a guy out this nothing better. They won't adjust my bill for I'm not receiving the full benefit of what I'm paying for. Such a ripoff to there customers.

Century will get you in for a Great low monthly price but after a few months into the service they gradually start increasing their price and if you don't look at the bill you won't notice it. I was on a one year contract with them just for Wi-Fi no cable at all. I was so unhappy with them! At the end of my contract with them I called to cancel my service and as every service provider they don't want they customer to leave them so they offer me a great price again so I took it. You think I would of learned my lesson NOT!!

We have had CenturyLink since it was Centurytel, for twenty-five years. Like another reviewer said, the internet was faster in those days than it is now. We cannot stream anything in the evenings or weekends, and barely any other time. We have doubled our speed package, but instead of being faster, it barely even works! Today I tried to do a speed test at Speedtest.net, and it wouldn't work. Lol. That's a first, when your internet is so slow that a webpage can't even do a speedtest. We are beginning to get advertisements of other internet available in our area. Hallelujah!

I got stuck into this century link contract which has given me nothing but misery. I even caught them stealing money from my account and turned them into the FCC. They are reluctant to let me out of my contract. I have a child in high school and one in college. I am struggling to make their success real because of snotty internet service and overcharging. Had Prism service in Gilbert and LOVED it. Moved to Tempe and it is not available. Have been a DSL customer for over 15 years. I am a professional computer consultant and access is a must for me. I have been a CenturyLink customer for over 10 years. For the last five service has been terrible. Internet goes in and out constantly. Sometimes we are without service for days at a time. Speeds are much lower than advertised. I was told that this is due to them overselling the lines & that with so many customers it is impossible to get the higher speeds. I was also told that nothing will be done in the near future to fix the problem. CenturyLink should not have oversold the lines & they should not charge for speeds they cannot provide.

This company sucks for internet in my area. I’ve had them over ten years when they had dial up and I can honestly say the dial up was better than what I’m receiving at this time. It took me needed an upgraded modem for them to inform me that I was not receiving the minimum mbps. It cuts out constantly!!! They have yet to give me any type of discount or anything to compensate for not getting the full minimum internet service. The phone service is decent but it sounds like someone’s always on the other end listening. I am xfinity bound.

I recently had a serious challenge with my internet carrier, but when I contacted them,, they were prompt to remedy the problem. Actually, I had a mountain lion "piss" onto the line outside and thus shorted out the whole system. After the repair person stopped laughing,and stating it was a first, all was resolved. This is Montana and therefore I was not suprised. (no word check on this laptop) I also rate Century Link high as when I spoke to them about the connection going "belly up" they stayed on the telephone 1 hour until all was resolved.

Phone and DSL out for 9 days and still down. No dial tone. Paid as a business line. All they could do is forward calls to my verizon phone. Every time I call back to talk about the repairs, they set my repair date back further!!!! Their repair service should get a negative rating. speed was slow before and now is only 0.4 gps download when it works at all. Time to call the FCC I guess.

I have one issue with Century Link. That is that they don't notify you when they are doing maintenance on the phone line (the only way we get TV and Internet) So, you may spend time chasing a problem with your system, believing it to be internal, only to discover the problem is theirs, not yours. Especially irritating when they scheduled the work that took the system down weeks ago.

Overall, Century link is great. They offer many different options, speeds, prices for internet, phone, and cable. The only drawback is you have to call every time your promo deal ends otherwise your price jumps up pretty high. It's a pain to have to constantly do this. If you forget theybwont backdate it. Internet problems for over two months. Spend HOURS on the phone with "support" every day. No one will try to solve the issue. No "support" people will listen to anything we say. Replaced the modem THREE times and they keep telling us it is the modem. Internet is up for 30 minutes then down for 10. THIS IS NOT A MODEM ISSUE. I work in I.T. and I am NOT a moron, yet your "support" people treat me like one. AVOID this horrid company at all costs! Unbelievable how bad these people are.

Absolute garbage. I would prefer xfinity over these guys any day. I had to revolve my life around them. I had to wait for them twice to come to my house once after a failed no show. Then the second time I had to find someone to cover my shift at work. Then when they installed my internet they just started to take things apart in my apartment without even asking if it was ok. I now have to pay fees for that with my land lord. Then the service is glitchy, terrible ping is everyday. I can't even have one device at a time on my internet without it overheating the router. Just a word to those who try to work from home. Century Link does not consider the connectivity from your laptop to your work VPN as "IN SCOPE" of their service. I can reach VPN in coffee shops, friends houses, Hotels, and through my Hotspot Phone service (T-Mobile), yet.... I can not within my own home.. And Century Link does not consider the DSL Modem/Router which they sold me, or their Internet Services to help me reach my work domain, as "IN SCOPE" when you ask for help. they are only concerned that if you can reach a web page, then that is the end of their service, the rest is your problem. I have now had 3 rebuilt computers through my work (Global Company of +30K employees) and had technical services through my work make themselves available to aid Century link with their limiting factors. They would not speak to them, and would continue to put the blinders on, as their scope was only the connectivity of the wires from your house to "a webpage"... so, please be aware as this has lasted 4 months now of trying to get this resolved. I stand behind this review and can provide proof or answer any questions.

I've been with CenturyLink for a long time because it is the most affordable when bundled with my landline and because there are few options in my area. I've run both Ookla and CenturyLink's own speed test several times over the past few years, and the results are consistently dismal and far from their advertised speed, at around 15mps download and .7mps upload. I've complained to CL customer service and been told that everything is working fine and my speed results are in line with normal results for my plan. But they aren't in line with the plan's claims.

I am unhappy with CenturyLink as my provider for several reasons. It seems that every day I have to go back and reset the router several times a day because I lose the signal for the internet, and it is hard wired. Nobody including myself can use the wireless because it says there is no signal, and we are no farther than 5 feet from the router. If I am watching a movie it is constantly buffering all the way through. For what I am paying for the service I am very dissatisfied.

I joined CenturyLink with a promise of a price lock for a year that only lasted two months. I signed up for automatic withdrawals, but CenturyLink processes payments when they get ready on different days of the month. I have a combo package of phone, internet, satellite. Things were good until I moved. The current city I am in which was no more than 15 miles from my last residence the service has become horrible. When I had everything transferred to my new address it all changed for the worse in my opinion. I only want Internet Service, but have to pay for a telephone as well as "fees" for the phone lines that have been here for 40 years. Seems that every 6 months or so a random increase in price shows up, requiring me to go to the retail store to here that "Corporate" changed fees and service charges, even though my initial service was sold as NOT increasing prices. I only want reliable Internet Service at a reasonable, STABLE price. I don't want to pay the $40 Sports fee that is hidden in every Cable TV bill.

Worst Service I have experienced. We do live rural so options are limited for us but the service is very inconsistent. The signal "because of the distance from box" is very slow. Worst customer service ever (worse than Verizon was a few years back). The people you talk to for the first 30 to 40 min have each told us different reasons for the degradation of our service over the last few years. High probability is they keep adding people without updating the area. I am now petitioning Xfinity to give us a price and soliciting funds from neighbors who are equally fed up to pay for expansion from Xfinity to our area. Can not say enough bad about Centurylinks service both with people and the service itself. As I have recently have been doing research they are the worst carrier in Oregon/Washington in the level of customer complaints and many have sent complaints to each states attorney general and customer advocacy groups.

I have had two service technicians out in the last 6 months. My service goes in and out. I usually have to get back on to re-connect. I have a century link modem that is not that old and was even looked at and ok'd by the technician. The technician said the problem is at the box shared by my neighbors. I have called again without talking to anyone in the USA. I am tired of their high priced, lip service only way of handling my account. I am getting them replaced in a week. My experience with CenturyLink has been a nightmare. Every month my bill is higher than I was told it would be. The wifi is so slow and freezes up even if I am right next to the router. I've tried calling but their customer service is awful. I've tried every trouble shooting suggestion on their website with no improvement. I'm calling today to have the service turned off as I refuse to pay them another cent for service that doesn't work, has never worked and likely never will work. I am furious with this service! I just moved here from midwest. It took forever for an installation appt. We finally got installed and were promised a whole bunch of discounts the 1st 12 and 24 months. The 1st notice came as a bill "estimate" 2nd notice came a month later as another "estimate. Both amts were different. Albiet they warned me it could take a billing cycle to establish the bundle but my 1st bill would NOT be a month in advance. The 1st bill comes and it's thru the roof! Through this time, I've had to call them 4 times regarding service, once was corporate. We have only been with them 3 months and already had to go to corporate! However, their customer service is a NIGHTMARE! Seriously it's traumatic. I used up two and a half phone batteries being cold transferred in circles for over 6 and 1/2 hrs. On another day, I spent my WHOLE day off trying to deal with billing ... Meaning from the time I woke up at 9 am until I was finished with household chores, including fixing dinner, around 615pm! This company bills what it wants. Then, cuts off communication. This should be illegal. I think it is, but the way our society works, they will get away with it for years and years until ... I don't know... Someone has the time to deal with them on a legal level. I will say....our neighbor warned us this would happen, but it was too late. She told us the day of installation. So on Century Link...if you have a lot of expendable income and it doesn't matter if or when you have service ... Go for it. If not, stay away! NOTE: in our area all our services go out at midnight for anywhere from 30 mins until the next morning EVERY NITE LIKE CLOCKWORK. So if this is happening to you everyday at a specific time ... You are not alone and it is NOT an "overload of users." -_-

Century Link no longer cares about the quality of service. For almost 2 years now, my internet is down at least 3 to 4 days every 6 weeks. I have spent unnecessary time having to call the company and never once is the problem on their end according to them. I have had to request multiple work orders and at least 4 modems in the last year. The service men has been very helpful and as fast as humaningly possible considering they have cut the man power in the area where I live (Galax, Va). I'm beyond disgusted with this company!!! Hello Mr. Glen Post III, CEO. I suggest you wake up! I have at least 7 residents that live near me and all are having the same issues with this company. Two miles down the road Centurylink will provide DSL service, but will not provide our street with the service. The only thing available on my street is dial up or expensive satellite providers. worst company ever wont fix issues with home phone I finally just unplugged it. They run a new line from alley to house after I complained. but that did not fix the issue. I told them it is in their building cause people miles from me have the same issues with their home phones . internet service glitches every few minutes. it is an issue I think in their wires down the street. but they say its my house. Centurylink customer for 3 years. Rural service area but good satellite reception. I signed up for bundle with landline phone service and DirectTV. After low introductory prices, the bill has climbed nearly every month. Most recent was over $230 for basic services -- no movies, premium channels, PPV sports events, excess data or other premium charges. So, how about service? Satellite goes down almost every time it rains. When we call for service they tell us it is an areawide problem, and they are trying to locate where the failure is. Last month we had several days with no computer or phone, and only a few TV channels. Then there is speed. Booting up takes several minutes. Downloading anything is a nightmare. Common for a Facebook page to take 10 minutes, and frequently I get a "FAIL" notice after several minutes of spinning.

Any changes made to the account creates accounting errors for months, regardless of what CenturyLink is providing (CenturyLink(Qwest)). Because the account is in error it requires calling. But after being on-hold an extraordinarily long time, the reps don't seem to be a able to do their jobs. They are polite. I give them that. But that becomes irrelevant when accuracy is needed. Asking to talk to a supervisor doesn't help. In the past I have had the information in my profile changed and no one else has access to my account other than the reps. If you have any other choice (we don't have where I live) take it! You'll be glad you did.

Highly dissatisfied with this provider. Over the last few years cost has nearly doubled, and that was after removing my phone service from the bill. In the meantime, reliability of the service has gone downhill. Can't stream movies, connection to internet is sporadic, and calling support requires a minimum of 30 minute investment. This is the worst internet provider I have ever had. I had encountered them before when stationed at Fort Hood and none of my soldiers in the barracks who had them had anything good to say about them. I get to Fort Riley and where I live know and behold the only internet provider is Century Link. Guess what. The service is horrible. I pay for 10mbs which 2016 is horrible speed compared to what the rest of the country has moved on to. The problem is I have at best only ever gotten 5.4 which I get as the customer service will be so glad to tell you...."you are paying for up to" I understand this and would be more tolerable if I was getting close to that and not falling between 1.4 and 3.2 on most days and 5.4 at best. What is worse is despite these connection speeds half the time their latency is almost as bad as dial up. I wont even say half the time its most days. I cant even join just a party chat on my PS4 because the latency is so bad. To give you an idea I cant even get a speed test to load up and tell me my connection speed anymore because the latency has gotten so bad. Yet century link has done nothing about nor do they make any attempt to improve their service. Cant play games online because of constant lag, cant watch Netflix because its always buffering every 10 to 15 seconds because of horrible latency. DO NOT get internet through this company unless they are your only choice like they sadly are mine. If I had any other option I would have left them a long time ago.

The Dsl service isn't too bad. It costs less than $50/month which includes taxes and fees, and the internet rarely goes down and I haven't noticed a lot of throttling. The downside is trying to get customer service can be a pain, unless you do online chat, but every time I've done the online chat, the rep seemed clueless to help with anything.

During the past couple of months, I have been having difficulties with this company. All started when I was charged for PRISM, even though I never had this service. I have called every month since April and I received promised that it will be corrected without any success. This month I was charged late fee when in reality I paid on time and the amount that I was told. I am still over charged and worse of all, every time that I called they have me on the phone for over one hour after being transferred from one person to another. I don't know if they communicate but it appears that no one seems to take the time to correct this problem. I have been with this company for many years and never have problems until this year. I am not only intent to cancel my services but I will also complete a report with the BBB. I am concern that all these problems may interfere with my perfect credit report.

CenturyLink has failed me time and time again and I honestly wish there was competition around here for a decent, stable Internet Service Provider. I call several times a month complaining of speed issues and they have "fixed" the problem several times but not fixed it. It's a constant game of "sorry not sorry" with them. Horrible, horrible, horrible service. I was set up for a installation between eight to Noon. No one showed up. I called in and they said it would be five fifteen. Still no show. I called again and they said there was a technical issue in my area and would have to reschedule for seven to ten days from then. The absolute worst company to deal with. Sends you items without you ordering them and then charges you for them, raises your bill (doubled) and says they're signing you up for new promotion and it takes MONTHS to get the bill correct. Speed tests don't usually catch intermittent latency spikes. The service is plagued with them, especially during peak hours, and tech support refuses to acknowledge their existence. These spikes make gaming impossible, and streaming is almost always pixelated and/or boggs down completely. Tech support says these spikes must be the game server's, or the streaming service's fault, but I have had the same issue for any game and any streaming service from youtube, to hulu, amazon, netflix, etc. If you don't game, and you don't stream, then go ahead. Otherwise, stay away.

The prices are just OK. They always try to bundle with ridiculous priced land line. Prices go way up if you don't bundle. The service works well enough and the set up and support "during" the hook up was goo. The customer service is absolutely horrible!! If you have any problem, be prepared to wait on hold for "a long time". I have spent four hours (two hours twice in one day) to solve a problem that was their fault one hundred %. Put on hold for twenty or more minutes at a time and transferred to five different people. EVEN the online chat you have to wait twenty minutes to get ant support. Called to cancel the DSL and again put on hold for twenty minutes at a time.....took forty one minutes to cancel....then another three days before it was turned off. One star is too much for this service. Streaming video's is ninety percent of the time impossible. When you call customer service the supervisor is not around, and the problem doesn't get fixed. I have called with this complaint more than twenty times in the last three years. I'm stuck with this service, therefore I have to move when my lease is up. I pay dollars a month for a lot of frustration.

I was told my Internet speed was going to be a fare speed then it turn into speeds that you cannot hardly check your email. I pay too much ever month on time for this service as well as a telephone with unlimited long distance. I feel I am being ripped off but with this being to only provider with unlimited surfing in the area of my home I am stuck with these rip off con artistes. So stay away from Centurylink if you want to save money. I am about to get rid of there services and live without internet.

I called Centurylink, they said they could increase me to fourty meg, and signed me up, then they called me back and said its not cost effective for them to do that. Really!!!! But here in New Mexico they have me signed up for hard wire, wifi and phone with ten meg and as low as one meg speed. That speed is something from the last century. After months of not being able to watch wifi streaming video, movies without connection failures or re-buffering. I am changing to different company that has hard wire, wifi with one hundred meg and phone service as well for a better price. Streaming video, movies and TV are the future way. Centurylink needs to get with the needs of the customers or loose out.

I would give them no stars if I could. They were okay the first year but when my promotion was up they promised they could get me one price per month but charged me over one hundred dollars per month, customer service was less than helpful, they said they fixed the problem but the next month the bill would be even higher. I canceled after six months because I was so upset with how they were billing me and they didn't give me any money back.

I have been trying to connect to a customer service representative for 10 days both by phone and internet. The customer service reps leave you on hold forever and then tell you they need to transfer your call or email and then you are dropped. I have spent well over 6 hours with no result. I am finding a different provider tomorrow. I have NEVER had such horrible customer service.

We have had nothing but problems with them since we signed up in December 2014. I've had to call in just about every month for one reason or another. They've been overcharging me on my bill for the last 2 months now so I have to call in for them to correct it. Then, when they take their payment out of my account, they take the full amount they charged and not the lower adjusted amount so I have to call in again. Then they tell me that they will credit my next bill, which is still overcharging me. Their service people don't seem to know what they are doing! Stay away if you can!

I work as a Stay At home tech support advisor and rely on my network. Every time it rains or there even the slightest storm it starts dropping. When it doesn't work I don't get paid. Yesterday had an almost all day outage. Today it's back to full speed but drops off every few minutes and disconnected several of my callers. I had to again take day off. I don't feel it's too reliable and am starting search for different provider.

The worst provider I've ever had. Paying for a speed and getting a fraction of what I'm paying for. With hours and hours of being on hold this week I've finally gotten a repair scheduled. A "repair" has already came out and gave me a new modem for no reason and lied and said our speed met their guaranteed mark. The speed AND customer service are terrible for a rural home. You do not get what you pay for and as much As you may try to voice your concerns, your value as a customer will never be felt. The fake "value you as a customer lines" are rehearsed and heartless. I'm not mean on the phone, I simply want to feel valued and have my bill reflect my services not my Wished services.

Century Link / Direct TV is a company that charges way to much for the TV phone and Internet when you call them for anything it takes forever for them to come and help you. You have to agree to a 2 year contact which is wrong. I believe there should be some way for any internet company phone company TV company to help people that are on a fixed income like people that are on disability or social security excetera.

CenturyLink is unfortunately the only internet service provider in our neighborhood. We have a certain speed service, but have been receiving much slower speeds. Some nights it is impossible to stream Netflix so we just watch TV. We have called to see what the problem is with the speed and they reboot it and then a few days later we have the same issues. I would not recommend CenturyLink to anyone who has other choices in internet providers.

I have had Century Link for over a year now. At first it was ok, but I never saw the advertised price on my bill. Many added on charges! Then when I added a second account it became unbearable! They have been miss billing me from day one! I have fought with them, I have filed with the FCC and I have a letter stating what the charges should be and still they over charge me every month! I once told them to cancel my account, this was done on their website through my account, and I was told that they would as soon as I told them who I am. REALLY! My best suggestion is to stay away from Century Link!

I spent nearly an hour on their chat line checking the price for Directv and internet before ordering. I kept a printed copy of the conversation. Not once have they charged me the price they promised, it has always been more. I complained repeatedly every month and each time was assured it would be corrected. It never was and now the say it is DirecTv's fault, even though they promised the bundled price. BUYER BEWARE. Outages are common but usually short - still frustrating if you are watching netflix. Contacting customer service can be like watching paint dry and as about as helpful.

My experience with CenturyLink has not been exceptional. My family has had a lot of trouble with the internet disconnecting frequently. We have attempted to call customer service multiple times and each time receive the same unhelpful response to unplug and re-plug the modem. In spite of reasonable pricing, no amount of credits to our monthly bill could make up for the lost time and issues that result from a lost internet connection (that is not unknown to occur every ten minutes on some days).

Century Link has great promotional deals, but they have terrible customer services, especially when it comes to the loyalty representatives. I have had to call the customer service approximately three times in the past month because they have overcharged my account and did not provide me with the upgrade that was promised to me when I changed my plan. I have never experienced such a rude and inconsiderate customer service representative than when I deal with century link loyalty representatives.

century link has worked hard to get our service to work upgrading router after router. The problem was the router continually dropped the signal and had to be rebooted several times each day. During this period over many months I considered changing service providers, but was impressed with century links service to fix the problem. However, when they increased the bill by (they refused to publish numbers) per month without any notice. After a couple of months with the price increase we caught on and called them. They waffled all over the board, agreed to bring the price back down to the original bill, but would not refund the over charges during the two months. Typical scam of these type of companies. They have NO shame or ethics whatsoever.

We have been with Centurylink for over 10 years, if you count our time in MT. Even there, we had major problems with them as far as reliability, but that was the onlly service available for our location. For the past 4 years in NM, we have had extremely annoying experience with customer service...the automated system that seems to be the first barrier to any service is nearly impossible, whether information is manually or verbally inputted, it does not register without several tries. Hold times on every single call are truly over 15 minutes. I have been on hold while writing this for over 20 minutes. Also, rates continue to change for the worse, although we have been with them all these years. We do not get rewards for loyalty. Now my automatic billing has increased without explanation, but service has not. This company has no concern for customer satisfaction at all, and service is not consistent with internet.

The modem that CenturyLink provided sometimes loses connection to the internet and it needs a complete reset to be fixed. After the reset, the connection is very reliable for the next couple of months until it starts losing connection again. The download speeds are good, however, the upload speeds are much lower.

I haven't had any issues with the internet, but their service center needs improvement. If you make changes on your account, it may take six months to get it correct. We changed from a business line to a regular line thinking it would save money, but it didn't. We have to call monthly to get credit for long distance calls that are supposed to be free nationwide. It is like the reps you talk with on the phone don't have any idea how to do their job. Once our contract is up, we are looking for a new provider.

AWFUL customer service - they lie about how much it's going to cost, magically raise the price, then spend months saying they're going to reimburse the overcharge without doing so. Internet also cuts out semi-regularly, and there's no offer for reimbursement for lost access time - if you ask for it, they say they'll put it on your next bill then never do. And the wait time when you call the support line for internet problems is ridiculous, often over half an hour before you're even connected to a human. Of course if you call to buy new service there's no wait at all. Pros are that when it works, the speed is fine, but it's just not worth it to deal with the connection and customer service issues. Go anywhere else, this company is not worth it.

I have been with Centurylink since they were Qwest. Hardly had issues with Qwest . Ive had nothing but issues with centurylink. For several years I was paying for high speed internet when it wasn't even available in my neighborhood. When I would call and complain about slow speed they would "help" me in tech support but not really. our neighborhood didn't know we didn't have high speed until one day centurylink came thru doing major work and we asked the work crews what they were doing and they told us we are installing high speed capabilities......I can go on with the issues Ive had but you get my point.....however there are only two choices of providers......

Century Link is a decent provider in the following areas: Speed, Pricing, and minimum of service interruptions. I would recommend the Customer Service department be more forthcoming with the dates for Auto Pay, as a disabled woman on a very limited income (far below poverty level), their very affordable service is still a little nerve wracking in the randomness of payment pull out on their Auto-Pay system. That being said, prices can't be beat!

I am very unsatisfied with my internet service. Almost once or twice a month I have to call for repairs. Freezing up or runs slow most of the time.i wish there were other internet providers in my area to choose from. I am suppose to have the prism package ( which I pay for) however I am told by technicians that I do not have prism as I am over eight hundred feet too far away from the optic lines. Hmmmm. CenturyLink is the only option I had at my home. I live in a very rural area. In addition, I do not have the option of a faster speed because of my area. That all being said, I am very happy with my service. It works well and IF there is an outage, it is really short lived. The customer service has always been very nice, and helpful. All in all this is a great service provider. I bet it would be even better if I lived in a large city.

we have been with century link for many years and I have come to the understanding that as soon as bad weather is within five miles or so we would probably have a bad connection if any at all. We have four gbytes which I thought was enough for my family and it but it turned out it wasnt. In the evenings when the children are doing school work, I am doing work and my husband is doing his work, we have consistant issues with being kicked off the connection and it gets really ugly fast here when that happens especially if you havent saved you work already done. But my biggest issue is we are now moving just two miles down the road and I was told that the best they could give us is one point gybtes? That is crazy because we were having aweful issues with four and now they want to give us one point five, I am now looking for a new carrier. Oh and not to mention, my bill went from thirty five fifty to sixty nine fifty, are you kidding me??? bye bye Century link

Basically lied to me from the start-quoted xx/mo internet only-fiber optic install for xx (but credited back). Ended up being twice as much/mo (shock and surprise-" we cant imagine who told you xx/mo....."). Disconnected immediately. Don't waste your time- try someone else.

They have great introductory offers but it's a hassle to get good offers after that period has run out. My rate doubled after the first year and anytime I try to lower my rate, they insist on offering me services I don't want or use in order to "bundle" and make it appear as if my internet is cheaper when the bundled extra service is double that of the internet pricing. The service is steady and reliable.

I would give them 0 out of 5 stars if i could worse internet around. !st trying to get someone on the phone from them for anything is about the same as the irs in tax time. 2nd hope you dont mind a .75 speed when they charge you for 20. 3rd during peak times enjoy waiting 3-5 mins for 1 email to load. just to back up my claim's.

Speed - iffy at popular times of day Pricing - changes monthly - they do not honor what they initially quoted at time of sale. Service: Every customer service rep has a different answer. Invisible rate hike is corrected only to return in a higher rate one or two months later. They are quick to offer other products for purchase when they can't fix the one for which you are now paying.

I bought the phone plus plan from century link. The representative told me that it was going to cost less then what I had been paying for my cell phone service plan and said that a deposit had to be made before i could get the service. They took the deposit off of my credit card and then I was able to use my phone. The phone service itself was grate. No problems there. However, the bill kept getting higher and higher each month until they were charging me over half of what I was originally supposed to be paying. I called and the representative told me that I had additional charges for using long distance calling which was supposed to be included in my service plan. She was not helpful at all. Actually, I must say she was a bit rude. So I terminated my service through century link.

I'm giving them few stars. I was told I would get twelve MB per second but rarely get even eight MB. I can watch Amazon and Netflix if no one else is using the Internet. Comcast is just as bad. I get fourteen MB with them and they promised over twenty five MB. With Comcast they made me wait a week to fix my Internet outage. I work from home on the Internet. As far as I can tell no one cares about Westminster.

This company has horrible customer service! After over charging me and failing to bundle my service with direct tv as promised (almost 6 month ago) i was told that no one with customer service to include supervisors have the ability to make corrections to your bill. I was also told that the original order to bundle was never entered so don't believe them when they tell you something is completed.

Would not even give them a Star. This provider Fails in every since of the way with customer services. They are over priced. They manipulate bills with out notification. Sorry, I have not experienced anything positive with Century Link. I have made monthly calls to them to try and get what they promised and get to spend several hours on the phone and go thru several people and it still doesn't fix my bill. The speed is nowhere near what they say. I am told my bill is one thing and get a verification code only to find out from the next person that it doesn't say that in the notes. Very frustrating. I just want honest service and correct bills.

Their customer service department does not have it together. I have been dealing with a billing issue for four months, and they keep crediting my account but not changing my services. In turn I have been having to call at least once a month instead of it being just a "one phone call and everything is taken care of" ordeal. I am not impressed, and customer service is what makes a company.

I have had ok results with the actual internet. Even after I increased my speed and bought a new router it doesn't seem as fast as should. As far as customer service goes, i have had one really bad experience, but usually the people are nice and helpful. Definitely beats dealing with Comcast.

Centurylink's service is good in the area where I live. I am addicted to my PC and the only time the internet has been down has been minimal. If my PC starts running slow or I get a virus then I am glad that they have the ability to go inside my computer and clean it up. The service only cost me very little and I would rather give them a little money rather than purchase another computer. The service ins available twenty four hours seven days a week and i am glad that they are there for me.

Due to our location, we have no choice. We have to use Centurytel. The speed is honestly as slow as dial-up, but they tell me it's the best they can do. We pay a LOT for nothing but waiting. I have to reset the server before using any device every time. It keeps automatically disconnecting. If any one out there is monitoring this site, offer consistent service at a higher rate of speed, at a better price. Fix ours and I'd be glad to update this review!

We have had Centurylink and the fastest speed in our area was too slow. We upgraded later and it was ok and the price stayed the same as the promo price is good for years if you bundle home phone, long distance ect. with them. Last week I upgraded to a faster speed again and don't notice any difference but are being charged more for this. Customer Service waits at times are long, I tried on different occasions to no avail getting through. Tried again another day and waited minutes. The Speed test shows my computer is not getting anywhere near the purchased mbps. Not real happy.

We are in a rural area that previously only received dial-up internet service. Now with CenturyLink our connection is better but certainly not perfect. Downloading video is slow compared to Comcast internet service which my sister receives and is not available to my home. For the price, I don't think you can get any better. During storms, the cable & internet do flicker out, but that's to be expected. If there's ever any issue with billing or anything at all, their customer service is top notch. I'd HIGHLY recommend CenturyLink over any other service I've used in the past, simply because it's affordable. For three devices, the internet isn't as fast as I'd like, but manageable.

Overall I have been very happy with the Internet service provided by CenturyLink. We have the 2nd to the highest available DSL service in our area with the ActionTec C1000A DSL modem and have had it for about a year and a half. Over that time, the only time we have had any problems with the service is when the area loses power during a thunderstorm or other power outage. I have tested the speed with several test sites and the speed is right at the advertised speed. We have no problem streaming several 1080p HD feeds from Netflix and downloading large install and update files to a PC takes very little time. Just for comparison, I have been using the Internet since the 1980's during the days of a 1200 baud dial-up modem. My only minor complaint is I feel the price is a little high. Overall, I am very pleased with the service provided by CenturyLink.

CenturyLink has been reliable for low to moderate internet speed connections but has failed in the area of high speed WiFi usage as we found out when we installed ROKU in our home. Since installing the streaming device, we found that download times are much slower than when we view online directly. Thats a huge problem, because we can't all crowd around the computer to watch favorite shows that should be streaming hassle free to our HDMI configured TV's. It doesn't happen always, but it happens enough to cause us to begin searching for other internet providers for relief.

The customer service is great, but When i first started my service I had to call back because when I initially started service they had me set up on a slow data speed, I upgraded the service then my internet was down for about 3 days because I upgraded the service and they didn't know where the connection was, the customer service is amazing, which is a deal breaker with me with most companies, they are friendly and most of them are knowledgeable. The speed could be better, although I get their fasted available to my area. The pricing is to high, even when bundled. However, their service is average. Often it takes up to several days to get repairs done. We had a tree that fell on the line and the line was on the ground, they refused to fix this and the local county supervisor had to call them. Was not impressed with this at all.

Excellent service, and the price (with the usual discount) can't be beaten. I've been really pleased with them overall, even though we do tend to have a lot of service outages on the phone lines and power. Throughput is good, though the download speed is VASTLY faster than the upload, so posting photos can take some patience.

My internet is ok but it could be better than that and the price is too high for the speed I get. Have been looking for a better deal. I have it packaged with satellite tv and I know they could offer a better deal. I would like protected service too.

I just moved here from Alaska and signed up for Century link it has been an ok service but I have had to replace my modem three time already. The speed goes up and down everyday so at times it is good and others it goes slow I have to unplug my modem alot.

Overall I am pleased with the speed of the internet however it is quite pricey for me. I used to pay less than 20 dollars a month for the same speed but I had to switch carriers when I moved. I like that they send you the router to install, but there was a mix up when I ordered it and I had to get a new one which was a hassle.

I really have enjoyed CenturyLink internet. The service is reliable, works well and is fast enough for me. Usually customer service is very courteous and helpful although I rarely have reason to contact them. My one complaint has been that once when we were traveling in an RV and couldn't get emails regularly, I missed a payment. One payment and had never missed before. They did not call me, just sent an email. When I got home my browser said I no longer had the service and to call. I felt since I had always paid (not even late) in the past, that they should have tried to contact me by phone before disconnecting my service. Their only comment was that they had emailed me and that I should set up on auto pay. Reluctantly I did set it up on auto pay and have had no problems. I can't complain about the cost of the service and it works well so I have no plans to switch.

The provider notified that a virus was being sent down my line and help me isolate the problem was due to another computer in my household was generating the virus, as I didn't know another computer was tapping into my line. Also when I decided to quit the provider, they offered to lower my bill by half for a full year. I'll stay with this provider because they care about their customers.

Works good for the most part. Speed depends mainly on how many people are currently using internet in the area. Down times are annoying because you aren't given warning of when they will be or how long.

I am giving CenturyLink 5 stars because they offer great, fast internet at a great price. When they schedule maintenance they do it late at night so that it doesn't affect a large amount of people and they always get your internet back up and running very quickly. Any time I have called about a problem or with a question, the associates are very nice and polite and very helpful. I definitely recommend getting internet through CenturyLink!

Century Link is the best Internet service provider ever! Set up was fast and easy. They provide free Norton anti-virus and helpful website features, as well as great customer service reps. I have been with them for almost 3 years and have never had a problem. I love being able to connect every time and having continuous Internet service with fast downloads and excellent streaming. So much better than previous providers, I am very happy with them.

I do not like CenturyLink, My internet was down for a week before the fixed it, when I called I could never talk to anyone it was automated, an all it would say is they would have it repaired by the next day at 1 o'clock an finally 7 days later it got fixed. It also constantly screws up. Would love to try a new carrier.

We currently have centurylink in our household. We have had to call them a few times regarding the service, we received a new modem but the service is still the same. The only option we get is to upgrade to a faster speed = more money and we'd need a new modem = more money.

Our Internet service is very reliable. We don't have the fastest speed available, but it is fast enough to be able to stream movies and television online while surfing the internet too. I wish the pricing was more affordable, but there aren't too many options available in our area.

I simply LOVE Centurylink...everything about it! I've ALWAYs been met with courteous and qualified Customer Service Representatives and have resolved every issue I've ever had quickly and professionally. I especially love the computer protection that I bundled with my home phone & internet and I've relied on that a few times when I've contracted computer viruses. I will never forget when my computer was LOCKED DOWN by the supposed "FBI" for "illegal downloading activity" (I NEVER download anything-I'm the most inept person when it comes to that sort of thing) I was instructed by the "FBI" that if I wanted my computer back, I would pay them $300. through "GREENDOT"! I had flashbacks of previous viruses and the thought of lugging my computer (yes, I'm one of the last Americans that still use a desktop) to my local Computer Guy (who has lost a computer on me), hundreds of dollars (I didn't have) and DOWNTIME (I couldn't bear the thought!)But when I called Centurylink in a panic my fears were immediately put to rest when "Danny" gave me a few simple instructions and took over by remote to clean my computer and made it new again! The prices were the most competitive at the time I signed up AND there was NEVER any contract/handcuffs. I just wish it was available in more places. Best of all, I don't feel like I'm doing my ISP a favor by using (AND PAYING THEM)for their service-I actually feel like a valued customer...unfortunately a rarity in this day & age. Centurylink link has provided FOR me...and this is my ONE & ONLY bill I pay every month where I feel like I'm getting the most for my money!

Nothing like calling a phone and internet company and never getting to talk to a person. I so love the loop that one is put through before ever getting to actually talk to a grown up. Asking for a supervisor is like mating elephants. There is a lot of noise and it takes 18 months to get any results. If you do have a problem and your internet or phone is down for a few days and finally speak to someone at least you get a compensation offer of $5.00 off your next bill. wow not impressed

I recently moved and had Century Link service hooked up at my home. It has been the worst few days ever. I have spent numerous hours on the phone with them trying to get my phone service to work. I have been argued with and screamed at and when they did send out a technician he refused touch anything inside of my home. On my initial phone call to them for service I was transfered 3 times and was quoted a different price from wach individual. Thats pretty much how they work they will just tell you that the other employee gave you incorrect information they have the worst customer service ever. One of the Technicians that came out ran a phone line out my front window to the phone interface box and left me unable to close and lock my window for an entire weekend, when I called the service rep told me that everything seemed to be fine. I was shocked.

My apartment forces me to use CenturyLink and the experience has been a mixed bag. Whenever I have had an issue it really depends on who answers the phone if I will get help or not. Much of their staff seems under-trained.

I've been with CenturyLink for almost 2 years, formerly they were known as Qwest. Their pricing is pretty reasonable however the fastest internet speed they offer in my area is a measly 10mbps. When I first moved here my first course of business was to get the fastest internet possible. I was used to getting over 25mbps at my old location, so I found their 10mbps offering to be a tad bit disappointing. I would gladly pay considerably more for faster internet. On the positive side, any issues I've had were fixed extremely quickly and the issues I've had have been far and few between, so at least their network is rock solid!
