The Los Angeles area offers excellent broadband coverage for its nearly 10 million residents, with speeds of 250Mbps available to over 93% of homes in LA county. The majority of residents don’t yet have access to fiber, making cable internet the primary connectivity workhorse in the city of angels. AT&T and Frontier are the fastest home internet providers in Los Angeles. Not every neighborhood in LA has access to AT&T and Frontier’s fiber internet. But if you’re lucky enough to have it, you can get speeds up to 7,000 Mbps (7 Gbps)—astoundingly fast for a residential internet plan.
Because Earthlink uses AT&T’s fiber infrastructure, it also has plans with speeds up to 5,000 Mbps.

What fiber internet providers are available in Los Angeles?
The two primary fiber providers in Los Angeles are AT&T and Frontier. AT&T has the best speeds and better customer satisfaction rankings. Frontier is a great option too, with no data caps and fair prices.
Unfortunately, you can’t get fiber everywhere in Los Angeles. But if you can find a fiber-optic plan in your area, we recommend you go for it. We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).
Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.
