Recently moved to Johnstown and was told TDS was the best out here. They suck!!! I cancelled my installation because customer service is horrible!!! I wasn’t even a customer yet and they were rude and hung up on us 2x! No need to give this company my money!! I would rather go with century link or try satellite!! This sorry company needs to take class on how to treat customers!!
Used bait and switch tactics to get me to switch from CenturyLink to them -promising a price for life . One year later, they raised the price by $30 ! They deny offering price for life and I have no way to prove it . Of course, why would I leave a price for life with CenturyLink and put myself at risk of a price increase? The only thing I got out of it was a higher speed internet, but not worth $81 a month !

If there was any other service that offered high speed in this area, I would use another provider. TDS is the best of the worst in the Johnstown area. We loose service in bad weather a lot. We also loose service at random, sometimes for extended periods (6 hours or more). The network also seems to be congested as my speeds will drop to 30% of what I pay for on a regular basis. At one point, I had to replace the lateral to my house myself because they could not get to it for weeks. I stopped using their modems because they kept failing and now I buy my own. Customer service hours are not convenient if you have a job. I have been a customer with this service since they were US Cable and then some other company for a while and then TDS. Like I said before, they are the best of the worst for my area and there really is no other choice right now. From what I was told they set up and exclusivity agreement with the city, I am guessing that is they only way they can stay profitable.
