Is Microsoft 365 Down?

How to troubleshoot a Microsoft 365 outage and get back online

Microsoft 365 outage

Whether you’re using Microsoft 365 for work or personal reasons, it’s a completely frustrating situation when it doesn’t work the way you want it to. We get that. Microsoft does experience outages from time to time, but you’re more likely to run into problems caused by your device or internet connection.

Find out below if Microsoft 365 is, in fact, down or if there’s something else preventing you from getting to the work you need to finish. Is it Microsoft 365, your programs, your account, your device, or even your internet connection? Let’s get the answers.

How to troubleshoot Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 has been a widely-trusted tool since 2011. While some global outages have happened, they are few and far between. Having said that, regional issues are more common, but the chances of Microsoft 365 being the sole reason you’re not able to get your emails sent, reports done, and presentations buttoned up are as likely as Bill Gates himself helping you troubleshoot.

But, don’t worry, you don’t need Bill Gates—we’ll get to the bottom of the issue in a lot less time than you think.

Check for a Microsoft 365 outage

Knowing if any Microsoft product is experiencing an outage is as easy as checking its Service Health Status page. You’ll find a green banner at the top of the page with the status “All products are operational” if all Microsoft services are working as usual. To check on Microsoft 365 specifically, scroll to “Microsoft consumer products” and click “Show products.”

If Microsoft 365 is experiencing an outage, all you can do is wait for it to be fixed. You can check out Microsoft 365’s X (Twitter) page for updates from the company.

No outage? Try these steps next

What if Microsoft 365 isn’t down, but you’re still not able to get your work done? That’s a little trickier. It could be your account, your program, your device, or even your internet connection.

1  Log out and log back into Microsoft 365 again.

2  Try another device.

3  Restart your device.

4  Check your router for disconnected cords.

It could be time to upgrade your bandwidth. While your current internet provider will be more than happy to bump you up a plan, we recommend shopping around the competition first.
