Duluth Residential Internet Coverage

Though it lies far from the Twin Cities that define Minnesota, Duluth is a strong urban area in its own right. Located in eastern Minnesota along Lake Superior, Duluth is the fourth largest city in Minnesota. Its residents have access to the internet via several different companies.

Some may choose the convenience of CenturyLink. This DSL provider has all of Duluth within its service areas, as well as many areas lying north, west, and south of the city. Neighborhoods in the coverage area include Palmers, French River, and Arnold.

Cable provider Charter is well-established in Duluth. Service reaches Pequaywan Lake in the north and stretches northward to outlying communities. Service is available through central areas like Hunters Park, Woodland, and Duluth Heights, before reaching the southern area of Fond du Lac.

Mediacom is still a prominent presence in Duluth, although its service area is slightly smaller than that of other ISPs. Service is available in northwestern Duluth, stopping just north of the Duluth International Airport. Service stops short of the eastern border with Wisconsin, excluding neighborhoods like Superior and Missabe Junction.

Please don't sign up with this company!!! You will never be able to talk to a manager, you won't be able to understand Customer service. They overbilled me and I have talked to several personel at Zito Media with promises of straightening out my bill and they do not follow through.

Terrible Service!! Impossible to get an issue resolved. They show in their records that they did not post a payment and after 3 different times and 3 different people, the issue is still not resolved. By this time you would think they would let me speak to management but they would not. Nightmare Service!!

We've always had spectrum...but not because we like them. There just don't seem to be better options. We have DAILY issues with drop off service, which affects my business because I depend on Zoom. When we complain they do a speed test. Speed is great! The real issue is the constant dropping off and inconsistency. It is a constant in our neighborhood and we are all asking why we pay so much monthly for such lousy service.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
