GFiber officially launched its all-fiber internet service in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 11, 2026, and opened up shop in the Meridian Class-A office campus located in Summerlin — the same area where customers can now sign up for new GFiber service.
“Connecting our first household is a major milestone in our journey to bring more choice and better connectivity to the Silver State,” says Ashley Church, GFiber General Manager, West Region. “For us, this isn’t just about laying fiber; it’s about expanding new possibilities for Las Vegas residents to work, learn, and play at home.”
Installing an all-new fiber network is a major construction project, from receiving the city permits, beginning construction, to connecting the first customers. GFiber goes neighborhood by neighborhood, and will rollout service as they complete each section, so it may not be available at your address immediately.
“Our construction teams are hard at work expanding our network across the city of Las Vegas and into additional parts of Clark County,” Church adds. “You’ll continue to see our crews in the coming months as we work neighborhood by neighborhood to bring GFiber to more doorsteps in one of America’s fastest growing cities.”
With all the internet options made available in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas, is GFiber worth the switch? Yes, it is. Read on to find out why.
First, your internet options in Las Vegas
A single address in Las Vegas doesn’t have access to every internet service available in the city. Homeowners and businesses alike may see around eight wired and wireless options. While the wireless options range from AT&T Internet Air to WeLink, GFiber’s main wired rivals in the area are:
- AT&T (fiber)
- CenturyLink (DSL, fiber)
- Cox (cable, fiber)
- EarthLink (fiber)
- Quantum Fiber (fiber)
- T-Mobile (fiber)
Yet when we zoom out and take a look at the Summerlin area, the only wired alternatives are Cox cable internet and CenturyLink DSL internet—all other options are 5G home internet, fixed wireless, and satellite service.
Technically, Cox runs a hybrid fiber-coaxial network. Like its rivals Xfinity and Spectrum, which market their internet services as “fiber-powered,” the core network is indeed all fiber, but the connection to your home could be fiber or cable, depending on where you live, and that can affect your speeds.
There’s nothing “hybrid” about GFiber in Las Vegas—it’s all 100% fiber-to-the-home. Let’s take a look at what GFiber now offers in the area.
Meet GFiber
| Product | Price* | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Core 1 Gig | $70/mo. | Up to 1,000Mbps |
| Home 3 Gig | $100/mo. | Up to 3,000Mbps |
| Edge 8 Gig | $150/mo. | Up to 8,000Mbps |
* Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change. See disclaimers.
GFiber delivers some of the fastest symmetrical speeds you can get in Las Vegas, up to 8,000Mbps (8Gbps). Quantum Fiber has a similar plan lineup, but its prices are usually higher than GFiber.
AT&T is another fiber internet provider in the area, which acquired Lumen Technologies’ Mass Markets fiber business (Quantum Fiber and CenturyLink). Internet marketed as AT&T Fiber in the area offers a wider variety of fiber internet plans than Quantum Fiber and GFiber. However, its current top speed is only 5Gbps, making GFiber your best solution for the fastest speeds you can get.
Out of all the internet providers in Las Vegas, GFiber is your best bet when it’s finally offered at your address. Read on to find out why.
GFiber wins big as the best internet provider in Vegas
| Score | |
|---|---|
| GFiber | 7.7 |
| T-Mobile (Fiber) | 7.6 |
| AT&T | 5.9 |
| Cox | 5.4 |
| T-Mobile (5G Home Internet) | 4.7 |
For the third year in a row, we awarded GFiber as the nation’s top internet provider in our Annual Internet Service Provider Review for 2026.
“GFiber sets the bar for quality internet and gives customers a service they can truly count on,” says HighSpeedInternet.com’s Austin Aguirre in the review.
As our methodology explains, we rank internet providers using proprietary data pulled from our internet speed test, our Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey, our outage logs, and other sources. We carefully analyze all that data to rank each provider in value, speed, reliability, and customer service.
We selected GFiber as the top internet provider in the nation based on how it excels in all four categories. We also selected it as the best fiber internet provider in 2025 based on the same high-ranking scores that made it the best overall internet provider in 2025.
Let’s dive into how GFiber excels in each category.
GFiber scores with the best customer feedback
| Score | |
|---|---|
| GFiber | 7.6 |
| Quantum Fiber | 7.4 |
| T-Mobile | 7.3 |
| AT&T | 7.2 |
| Cox | 6.5 |
GFiber wins the top spot based on our proprietary data. Unsurprisingly, GFiber Webpass is a close second in 2026, meaning customers are extremely happy with their interactions with GFiber, whether they have full fiber-optic or fixed-wireless service.
GFiber also grabbed the top spot for customer service in our Annual Internet Provider Review for 2025, outranking Quantum Fiber and Cox.
“GFiber customers don’t waste time waiting on the phone, are not bounced around between agents, and aren’t left to the mercy of chatbots and automated answering services,” said Austin Aguirre in the 2025 report. “When a customer calls in, a real, live agent picks up the phone in under 10 seconds.”
In fact, GFiber’s customer service has ranked high in all the years we’ve collected and reported on internet provider data. But does GFiber’s reliability rank just as high? Let’s find out.
Vegas can’t beat GFiber’s winning reliability
| Score | |
|---|---|
| GFiber | 8.7 |
| AT&T | 8.7 |
| Quantum Fiber | 8.6 |
| Cox | 8.1 |
Internet providers strive to get as close to 100% as possible, and GFiber is no exception. In fact, GFiber guarantees a 99.9% Monthly Uptime Percentage and a 25% refund on your monthly bill if your service is down for more than 45 minutes (Edge product only).
“GFiber has fantastic uptime, and we never experience low bandwidth issues in our household,” says one customer on our GFiber customer reviews page.
“I’ve had Google since it started. In 10 years, my service has been down twice,” says another customer. “Whenever I have an issue, a tech is on-site in less than 24 hours.”
In 2026, GFiber and GFiber WebPass take the crown for reliability, outranking AT&T Fiber, Quantum Fiber, AT&T Internet Air, T-Mobile Fiber, and Cox.
So, while GFiber is super-reliable, is it really superfast too? Let’s look at the numbers.
You just can’t lose with GFiber’s awesome speeds
| Average speed (national) | |
|---|---|
| GFiber | 287Mbps |
| AT&T | 235Mbps |
| Quantum Fiber | 235Mbps |
| Cox | 137Mbps |
These national averages are lower than what you might expect from providers with high-speed plans because:
- Speed tests are typically run when there’s a connection problem.
- Speed tests are normally run over a Wi-Fi connection.
- More customers are on slower plans than on faster ones.
- Some providers have multiple tech types that hurt their averages.
We’ll always suggest you to run a wired speed test first because there are too many factors with Wi-Fi to give you an accurate reading. For example, customers experiencing slower-than-expected speeds may be unknowingly connected to the slower 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band when they run a speed test, recording inaccurate results.
However, these national averages are higher than last year, which is reflective of ongoing network improvements and home hardware upgrades. Still, out of all the Las Vegas providers listed in our annual review, GFiber has the best speed average, and we expect it to be even higher in 2027.
That all said, GFiber has great customer service, reliability, and speed, but is it worth the money? Let’s wrap this up with how GFiber is an excellent value.
GFiber is worth every penny
| Score | |
|---|---|
| GFiber | 6.4 |
| Quantum Fiber | 5.7 |
| AT&T | 4.3 |
| Cox | 3.6 |
Let’s get real here: People want a lot for nearly nothing. Who wouldn’t buy a perfectly brand new Porsche for $100?
We’ll probably never see an internet provider score a perfect 10 in Value, but we think GFiber is an awesome deal for the speeds you get, nonetheless, and many customers think so too. There are no equipment fees, no overage fees, and no promotional prices that leave your jaw on the floor when standard pricing kicks in.
Let’s take a look at how GFiber’s pricing stacks up against the competition in the region.
GFiber vs. Quantum Fiber
As of this writing, Quantum Fiber is running a discount on several plans for a limited time, but the typical standard rates are on par or slightly higher than GFiber. Your best savings between the two is when you choose GFiber’s Core 1 Gig or Edge 8 Gig product.
GFiber vs. AT&T Fiber
If you check AT&T Fiber’s prices, they include a 12-month discount, a paperless billing and autopay discount, and a third ongoing discount on some plans that makes AT&T Fiber extremely competitive. However, that “ongoing” discount doesn’t mean forever—it can be removed at any time.
GFiber doesn’t play that game—the price you see is the price you’ll pay indefinitely.
GFiber includes cool perks
| Core | Home | Edge |
|---|---|---|
* Offered but not included
All three GFiber products include the equipment you need to get online. However, the Home and Edge products include an additional perk or two that make GFiber an incredible value.
The Priority Room Optimization perk is essentially whole-home Wi-Fi installed by a GFiber professional at no extra cost. The Uptime Guarantee gives you a 25% percent refund on your month’s bill if service is out for more than 45 minutes. The Internet Battery Backup keeps you online for up to two hours during a power outage.
Overall, GFiber is indeed an excellent value. No weird pricing. No surprise price hikes. No data caps or contracts—just great, affordable fiber internet you can count on each day.
GFiber is your best bet in Las Vegas
We can’t stress enough that GFiber is an awesome deal, and hopefully, the numbers prove our case. Current customers have spoken, and they praise GFiber for its speeds, reliability, customer service, and value.
We can’t tell you exactly when GFiber will offer service at your address. The only way to check availability is to use GFiber’s address check and sign up for updates. It’s only been a few months since the first homes and businesses in Summerlin were connected with GFiber, so you may not see it offered in your area yet. Be patient, though—it’s definitely worth the wait!
