How Much Will Spectrum Internet Cost After a Year?

Expect a price hike of at least $20 once your Spectrum promo price comes to an end

Spectrum’s internet plans carry a 12-month promo period, but luckily, Spectrum’s post-promo prices are easy to find. All of Spectrum’s plans will experience a price hike of anywhere from $20 or $35 per month—that’s significant enough of a jump that we recommend keeping a close eye on the promo end date. If you’re currently on one of Spectrum’s plans with promo pricing or are looking to sign up, I’ll walk you through the post-introductory prices you can expect with each plan.

Spectrum post-promo prices

When you sign up for a Spectrum Internet plan, the post-introductory price isn’t usually advertised—this is, unfortunately, standard practice with most internet providers. Fortunately, you can easily access Spectrum’s post-promo prices through the broadband labels just a few scrolls below the plan lineup during the cart checkout process. Let’s break down the standard monthly rate for each Spectrum Internet plan.

Spectrum Internet® Premier $50/mo.*

Spectrum’s most affordable plan, Internet Advantage, carries the smallest price hike of $20 per month. All other plans will typically increase by $35, and that’s no chump change. Seeing your internet bill skyrocket unexpectedly can be shocking, so be sure to track when your promotion ends. When you inevitably get hit with a price hike, there are a few things you can try. I’ll walk you through the best ways to handle a price hike.

What you can do after getting hit with a Spectrum price hike

Price hikes are common, but you don’t need to settle for a higher internet price. The first step to lowering your internet bill will always be contacting your provider. If you can manage your internet needs with slower speeds, you can downgrade your plan to a slower, but cheaper plan. If your price hike isn’t manageable, I suggest shopping around for internet deals in your area.

If you want to keep Spectrum as your provider, you can try to use local deals to negotiate a better price with Spectrum. Even if you can’t find another plan on your own, give Spectrum a call. Agents may be able to offer you another deal in order to keep you with the company.

Monthly standard rates are always subject to change

Like all other internet providers, Spectrum’s monthly prices could change a year from now. So you could end up paying more, or hopefully less, than the current standard prices. Always keep an eye on the expiration date for your promotional pricing. Be ready to jump ship and find another internet provider, or try to negotiate a better price if a price hike is too high. Even if you aren’t expecting a price hike, we recommend reviewing your account at least once a year to make sure your bill is as expected.
