How-To, Internet Buying Guides
Knowing what internet plans and providers are available in your area is a sure shot way of making sure you’re getting the best deal around. The easiest way to get specific deals or offers available to you is to use your address or zip code. Most internet providers will restrict deals to specific markets, so even if you see a billboard or ad for a certain deal, you might not qualify for it based on where you live.
Ready to jump into how to make sure you’re getting the most bang for your buck for internet in your area? Let’s walk through how to find special offers using your zip code.
Using our zip check tool
Internet offerings can vary by address, even down to the street you live on. Some of your neighbors might have a different lineup of plans and providers available, making it impossible to really scope out all your options without using your location.
The first step to seeing all the options available to you is using your zip code with our zip check tool. You’ll enter your zip code, then hit Find Providers to get a list of internet providers in your area.
Below, I’ll walk you through what you can expect after entering your zip code in our zip check tool.

Get a list of the top internet providers in your area
Once you enter your zip code, you’ll be able to see residential, business, and mobile providers in your area. You’ll get a list of the top internet providers in your area, and at the top right corner of each provider card, you’ll get the availability in your zip code.

Whether you’re looking for the cheapest, fastest, or most reliable internet plan available, you need to start with scoping out what’s in your area. You’ll be able to compare providers by max download speeds and internet connection types. Plus, you’ll see any special promos available in your area. Xfinity is currently offering gigabit internet in Draper with a five-year price guarantee for $50 per month—now that’s an eye-catching deal if you ask me.
On top of being able to see any highlighted offers for providers in your area, you’ll also see expiration dates for promos, so you can snag any offers that catch your eye before they end.
Sort internet providers by speed, recommended, or user ratings
Once you enter your zip code, you’ll be able to see what’s available and tailor your plan pick to your needs. If speed, top recommendations, or best user ratings is the second most important priority after finding the best deal, you can apply that to your search.

I’ve been burned one too many times by bad customer service, so solid customer service is one of my top priorities when picking an internet provider. One of my favorite features of the zip check tool is that you can check out customer reviews of internet providers in your area. If you want to help others find a solid internet provider, you can also leave a review of your current provider.
Now that you have deals in your area, you can take your pick
If price is the only determinant for which internet plan you pick, it’ll be an easy choice. But there is no one-size-fits-all best internet plan because it will depend not only on the speeds and type of internet connections available in your area, but also on your personal household internet needs.
For some, a satellite internet plan will be the best option if DSL is the only competitor available. Others may have the choice between fiber or 5G home internet, while some areas might only have cable internet providers available.
If you have a smaller household or minimal to basic internet needs, a gigabit plan isn’t necessary, and you can opt for a plan with lower speeds. On the flip side, larger households with a lot of smart devices will need a faster internet plan.
Either way, comparing what’s available in your area will help you decide on the best internet plan for you.
