NYC Residential Internet Coverage

Welcome to your source for information on internet services in New York. We’ll show you which Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are available in NYC plus give you speeds, stats, and comparisons between providers like Verizon, Spectrum, and Xfinity so you can make an informed choice.

New Yorkers in all five boroughs can get access to top-end broadband providers, but exactly which ISPs offer service in your area will depend on your neighborhood.

Verizon

Verizon has the largest coverage area. It offers internet service to virtually the entire city. However, the speeds available may vary by location.

Spectrum

The Spectrum service area covers Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, and about a third of Brooklyn on the northwest side. It doesn’t offer service in the Bronx.

RCN

RCN offers service in Manhattan and some neighborhoods around LaGuardia Airport and Flushing Meadows.

Optimum

Optimum covers most of the city, but it doesn’t have service in Staten Island. It also offers service in only a few neighborhoods in Queens.

Xfinity

Xfinity is listed as a New York ISP, but it offers service to just a small part of Manhattan. Its major service area doesn't include most of New York, but it does offer service around Newark.

The good news is that no matter where you live in New York, you’re bound to have decent internet services available.

Highest-rated Internet Service Providers in New York

Horrible service! Straight mean and ridiculous. I need to downgrade my plan they act like they can’t do it. Just as silly. Stop tryna keep ppl at a certain amount so u can make ur profit. If someone can’t pay for it they just cant ! Be more sensitive to ppl and listen.
