Irvine Residential Internet Coverage

Located in the Long Beach metropolitan area, Irvine is one of the most densely populated cities in California. Whether you prefer cable, satellite, DSL, or fiber, there are many internet options to consider.

Through AT&T, Irvine residents can access fiber, DSL, or both. The combined network reaches Lower Peters Canyon in the north, Research Park in the west, Turtle Ridge in the south, and East Industrial Complex in the east.

Frontier Communications has an established network in this area. Coverage is primarily limited to the southern part of Irvine, with service reaching Quail Hill, Shady Canyon, and Great Park.

High-speed cable is offered by Time Warner Cable in select Irvine neighborhoods. The service area includes many northern neighborhoods, like West Park, Rancho San Joaquin, Woodbridge, University Park, and Turtle Rock.

One of the most well-known internet service companies in Irvine is New Edge Networks. Service runs from Northwood Point and Walnut Village in the north, through the central areas of Spectrum and Oak Creek, to the southern neighborhoods of Quail Hill and Shady Canyon.

The internet was good and fast. No much outage but three were few. Some days midnight wifi would restart and my cox device is in my closet and it won’t work in my kitchen in the same floor and i live in 1 bd apartment. I was trying to cancel the service and it’s taking forever for them to reply in chat. I called them and told to cancel and I was chatting online and it’s taking time and the guy disconnected the call without any warning. Customer service sucks internet speed is good.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
