Clayton Residential Internet Coverage

The medium size city of Clayton is attracting new middle-class home builders due to a booming economy. Residents are well-educated. Many work in fields requiring computers and math, particularly in the sales field. They depend on internet services to keep them connected to their customers and their families. Although just 91% of North Carolina residents can access high-speed internet, 100% of Clayton residents can.

Time Warner Spectrum provides cable internet to 100% of the area. Users who prefer DSL can connect through CenturyLink, which reaches 92% of residents. Fiber optics have not yet entered the space.

Businesses have one additional option. Level 3 Communications is beginning to provide fiber optics to commercial subscribers. Currently, they offer the service to 1% of businesses, though this is likely to expand.

I have had CenturyLink for many years now and it has been declining each year for me. The internet has been getting poorer by the week. I have issues working at home when noone else is home. When we stream, the problems are endless. Their customer service just passes you around like a hot potato or when they do connect you with another representative, they don't let the new representative know what the situation is and I have to explain it every time I'm transferred. After spending hours on the phone with them, the internet is still slow and now my phone doesn't work. Called the next morning and SURPRISE we have to call back in an hour cause they are doing maintenance. My advice - DO NOT use this company unless you want the slow internet and incompetent tech support that gives you the run around. Spectrum, here I come!

Speed is good, I get what is advertised. Availability is great, very seldom do I loose connectivity. Price, well I think they can offer it for much cheaper! 🙂
