Cable:

Cable provides internet speeds faster than DSL through the same cables used for cable TV.

Fiber:

Fiber relies on glass strands to relay digital code and is much faster than both DSL and cable.

Speed that I was paying for, was rarely available. I'm only using Spectrum for an internet connection (no TV, no gaming garbage, no phone)... so I don't get any discounts. I called to keep my rate (due to a rate increase of $20/mo). Apparently, they need my $20/mo to stay in business. From a technical side, Spectrum appears to be changing things on "their" end, which was impacting my modem. I have to reboot my modem about every 2 months, because my speed would drop from ~20Mb to about 6Mb over time. After reboot, connection speed is back up. I guess this issue is the extent of the technology used for the "low-speed" consumers. I do have a choice of whom to use for internet, but unfortunately just like the oil/gas industry, all ISP companies are the same...

Please stay away from those spectrum sales people at Walmart or other stores. They will rip you and tell you anything to sign up. It’s all lies, whatever they sell to you, it will be $100+ more. You won’t be able to cancel while the bill keeps increasing. If you have some good experience with Spectrum. But for me, I am so done. You can speak to 20 customer representative and no one will fix your issue

This is the LOUSIEST service ever. It consistently stops working and I am forever on the phone with technical support. I do NOT recommend Spectrum.
