Springfield Residential Internet Coverage

As the capital of Missouri, the city of Springfield is the hub of business and entertainment in this state. Many of the state's residents and business professionals rely on consistent internet service.

Through CenturyLink, those in Springfield enjoy access to fiber and DSL internet. The fiber network of Centurylink Prism is somewhat limited; it reaches south of the Springfield Regional Airport and is available in some southcentral neighborhoods, but is not widely accessible in Springfield. The CenturyLink DSL network is somewhat larger, reaching a greater portion of the city's central and northern neighborhoods.

The fiber and DSL networks of AT&T cover all of Springfield, with DSL a bit more accessible throughout the city. The service map reaches Ebenezer in the north, Mentor in the south, Bois D_Arc in the west, and Valley Water Mills in the east.

The Suddenlink Communications network reaches some of southeastern Springfield, covering neighborhoods like Mentor and Oakmont.

Finally, via Mediacom, people in every Springfield neighborhood can choose high-speed internet.

This is by far the worst service I have EVER received! I have not had internet for almost a week and mediacom/x stream does not do one thing about it nor care. I work from home and they tell me sorry we can come out in like 3 days and check it! I called the customer service 4x’s one day and got 4 wrong answers. I went and got a new modem bc that’s what some customer service agent said to do and it was broke when they gave it to me! I wouldn’t have this company if you paid me!! Awful!

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
