Home Networking, How-To, Internet Outage

It doesn’t matter if you’re in the workforce, a student, or a grandma wanting to speak to her precious grandbabies; Zoom is a part of your life. While it can be a frustrating program to use (how many times are we going to remind people they’re muted?), there’s nothing more annoying than trying to get into a call and not being able to. That’s why you’re here.
Is Zoom down? Maybe. Large or even global Zoom outages are very rare, though not unheard of. It’s more likely you’re experiencing a local glitch or a problem in your home internet network. This troubleshooting guide will get you back on track in less time than it takes to find the clapping reaction button.

How to troubleshoot Zoom
Are you primed for your call and ready to talk, but still looking at the spinning wheel of potential program outage? We get it. The good news is that finding out what’s up with your issue is nowhere near as difficult as you probably think.
Check for a Zoom outage
The simplest way to check on outages is to go to Zoom’s status page, where you’ll find out the status of the program and all of its offerings immediately. From here, you can also find announcements and information on upcoming scheduled maintenance. For reports on past incidents, scroll to the bottom of the page.
No outage? Try these steps next
What do you do if Zoom isn’t down but you’re still not able to get into your calls? The following steps will help you get back to your scheduled meetings or at least identify what needs to be looked at next.
1 Close the program, go back to the invite, and join again.
2 Log out and back into Zoom.
3 Update the app and your device’s operating system.
4 Restart your device.
5 Clear your browser cache or Zoom data and cookies in the app settings. Navigate to Settings > General > Zoom Apps.
If these steps don’t get you back to your regularly scheduled calls, you’re almost definitely experiencing an issue with your internet connection.
