Waco Residential Internet Coverage

The town of Waco, Texas, while small, holds a large population of 133,000, with most having access to cable, fiber optics or DSL providers nearby.

Cable internet services provided by both Time Warner Cable Spectrum and Grande Communications provide residents with high-speed cable. Spectrum advertises speeds up to 50 Mbps, while Grande Communications offers speeds up to 400 Mbps. Residents near China Spring, north of Lake Country Club and in central/eastern Waco have access to cable internet.

AT&T Uverse, a Fiber optics-powered DSL service, provide over 90-percent of Waco residents with high-speed internet services. They advertise download speeds up to 18 Mbps, so it's great for residents who still enjoy DSL services. Residents in northern Elm Mott may be out-of-area for services, while the remaining parts of Waco can still enjoy this service.

Finally, Grande Communications does offer a small percentage of residents near Camron Park and China Spring with Fiber Optics internet. Download speeds are the fastest, with an advertised speed around 1 Gbps.

I am a newly subscribed internet provider with a stand broadband Waco Texas. The internet is very slow and unreliable speed keeps dropping, unable to scream unable to play your PlayStation games unable to watch Netflix All it does is buffs. I have called numerous time to take support only thing they want to do is restart my modem and send a signal back to my home. I was with spectrum before and it was the same thing seem like we're paying for service will not getting very poor service.

Our experience with Spectrum was an absolute nightmare! We tried to transfer services from Colorado to Texas. The techs came to our house FIVE times and could NOT figure out how to install Wi-Fi or TV. Customer service had extremely bad communication with the techs and vice versa. Two weeks later they are trying to get me to change my cell service that I did not ask for. I never want to hear about this company again! Horrible communication and total lack of communication and service

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
