The Most Fios TV is the deluxe package that gives you tons to choose from. Deals for students

Customers who are college students receive a $5–$10 monthly discount on any Fios internet plan. They get $5 off if they also have a qualifying Verizon wireless plan and $10 if they’re a non-wireless customer.

Apply for the Affordable Connectivity Program to lower your bill even more

The federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) helps low-income families afford an internet connection by providing up to $30 per month toward a household’s internet bill. Households on Tribal land or high-cost areas might be eligible for enhanced support of up to $75 per month. Verizon participates in this program, so you can get internet for as low as $25 per month.

You may qualify for the ACP if at least one person in your household meets the following criteria:

  • Qualifies for the Lifeline Program
  • Is approved for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP)
  • Has received a Pell Grant in the current year
  • Is currently eligible for certain providers’ low-income programs
  • Receives assistance through SNAP or WIC

Head to our ACP guide to learn how to apply.

What fees do you pay with Verizon internet?

Verizon doesn’t gouge you on fees—but there are some fees you might have to pay.

First off, here’s what you don’t have to pay.

  • No charge for Wi-Fi router rental
  • No data caps or overage charges
  • Waiver on $99 setup charge when you order Fios online
  • No setup fee for 5G Home or 5G Home Plus

Alright, now here’s the fees you do have to pay.

Verizon internet fees

FeesCost
Whole Home Wi-Fi / Whole Home Wi-Fi Plus extender$10–$15/mo. (included at no extra charge with Fios 1 Gig plans)
Verizon router (purchase)$399.99
Setup$99 (waived if you order online)
Late payment1.5% of the owed balance or $5

It’s not likely you actually have to deal with any of these extra charges from Verizon. Signing up for AutoPay means you don’t have to worry about late fees, and you can waive the setup charge for Fios simply by ordering online.

If you live in a home with a large layout—or if you want Wi-Fi in your backyard—you can pay extra for a Wi-Fi extender to cover more ground. You can also buy a router directly from Verizon, but we wouldn’t recommend it because the router is super expensive. You’re better off buying your own Wi-Fi router.
