Pricing
Every year, we ask customers what elements of an internet plan are most important when choosing a service, and every year, customers say the same thing: the service cost is their top concern. That’s why plan pricing is the most influential factor in our scoring. We looked at every element of each plan’s pricing:
- Starting rate
- Standard rate after the promotional period
- Length of the promotional period
- Features each plan provides for the money
Once we compared all factors, Quantum’s 500 Mbps fiber internet plan stood out as the obvious best choice.
“Love it! I recommend them fully! Free installation, affordable price and great service.”

2025 Customer Satisfaction Survey
This plan is only $50 per month, and that isn’t a promotional rate. That’s one of the lowest standard plan rates around, not just for fiber, but for any type of internet. In fact, Quantum’s pricing is so low that it meets HighSpeedInternet.com’s criteria for a budget internet plan—but you would never know it looking at the tech specs.
Quantum’s Fiber 500 plan delivers symmetrical bandwidth, which means your upload speeds are just as fast as your download speeds, giving you exponentially faster upload service compared to cable and 5G. On top of that, you get increased reliability and a more responsive connection due to fiber internet’s lower latency.
Lifetime price lock
In addition to a low standard rate, Quantum Fiber does something no other fiber provider does: it guarantees the plan’s low rate for life. As in, forever. This is completely unprecedented for a fiber plan of this quality and a big indication that Quantum intends to do things differently by creating terms that are risk-free and easy for customers.
“I have a great lifetime price deal, and the service is very reliable.”

Other fiber ISPs offer plans that don’t assert price hikes in the customer contract, but eventually, these providers raise their standard pricing across the board. Like all consumer services, internet plan price hikes are inevitable, with the only exception being deals like this one. Quantum customers don’t have to worry about such scenarios or any possibility of their monthly rate increasing, provided they keep the plan active.
Expert tip: Claim this lifetime rate while you can!
Deals this good are often brief. Offering up the deal of a lifetime is one of the best ways for a new ISP like Quantum Fiber to make a splash when entering the market. But if history is any indication, Quantum Fiber’s lifetime $50 plan offer won’t last forever. It may raise the price or remove the lifetime price lock; we’ve seen both happen before with other providers. If you want this low rate locked in for life on the world’s best type of internet service, you should claim it now.
See Plan for Quantum FiberQuantum’s lifetime price lock, in tandem with its uniquely low standard rate, makes its 500Mbps fiber internet plan the best value for fiber internet customers in the U.S.

Policy
The more we looked into Quantum Fiber’s 500Mbps fiber internet plan, the better the story became for internet customers. Quantum Fiber’s star internet plan carries a policy that is equally customer-centric as its pricing.
The 500Mbps plan requires no term commitment, often phrased as “no contract,” which means you can cancel anytime without any early termination fees. There are also no installation or data charges or any other sneaky wallet busters in the fine print.
Customer feedback
A good internet plan should be backed up with good customer feedback. Since Quantum is a newer internet service, 2025 was the first year we were able to gather significant and meaningful customer feedback, and the ISP did not disappoint with its HighSpeedInternet.com customer rating debut.

Quantum received the second-highest customer rating, not just for fiber, but for all internet providers. Its 8.25 average rating rose above 26 out of the 28 major ISPs we measure nationally—an outstanding achievement for a brand new service.
“One of the best options for internet service I have ever purchased, and I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Methodology
To compare fiber internet plans, we first filtered out plans based on price, speed, plan availability, and availability of data. Fiber internet plans must meet the following basic requirements to be considered:
- Standard rate must cost $70 per month or less. Our internet experts determined that internet plans above this price point are not comfortably attainable for the average American household.
- Provide at least 500Mbps of internet speed. We recommend at least 100Mbps for each person in the household. A speed threshold of 500Mbps ensures enough bandwidth and headroom for a four-person home.
- Maintain the starting price for at least one year. Promotional rates that don’t last at least the length of the plan contract or more than one year force customers to commit to a price hike. While promotional rates do affect the score of each internet plan, standard rates that kick in after the promotional period carry much more weight in our scoring.
- Provide at least 1TB of data per month. Data caps inflate internet bills. The best internet plans either do away with data caps altogether or provide enough data to make overage charges very rare.
- Be available to at least 1% of U.S. households. Our readers can’t benefit from internet plans they can’t get.
After filtering out plans that didn’t make the cut, we applied the following scoring to each eligible internet plan:
- Pricing (70%): Includes standard rate, promotional rate, length of promotional period, and speed/price ratio.
- Customer feedback (20%): Includes the ISP’s overall average customer rating according to the HSI 2025 Customer Satisfaction Survey, which collected feedback from 10,000 internet customers.
- Plan policies (10%): Includes plan details such as term agreements, data caps, early termination fees, restocking fees, installation fees, price locks, and any type of fee that customers may consider a hidden fee.
The above requirements and proportions align with the priorities represented in data collected from tens of thousands of internet customers by HighSpeedInternet.com and through plan analysis by our team of internet experts.
