Spectrum is the ideal choice if you’re shopping for a new TV service. Unlike other third-party live TV platforms, you can get all the local, traditional cable, and premium channels available in your area when you choose Spectrum TV®. You don’t need Spectrum Internet® to use Spectrum TV, either, but we recommend it if you prefer to stream live TV on your devices instead of using the traditional cable TV box.
The good news is you can get great discounts when you bundle and order different Spectrum services online. We go over the details, so you can see how much you can save.

Get internet at a discount when you order online
Spectrum Internet Advantage is highly affordable, whether you order new internet service online or walk into a Spectrum store. The extra savings kick in when you order Spectrum Internet Premier or a faster plan online. Take a look at the online vs. in-store price differences:
| Plan | Online price* | In-store price* | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spectrum Internet Advantage | $30/mo. for 1 yr. | $30/mo. for 1 yr. | Up to 100Mbps (wireless speeds may vary) |
| Spectrum Internet Premier | $40/mo. for 1 yr. | $50/mo. for 1 yr. | Up to 500Mbps (wireless speeds may vary) |
| Spectrum Internet Gig | $50/mo. for 1 yr. | $70/mo. for 1 yr. | Up to 1,000Mbps (wireless speeds may vary) |
| Spectrum Internet 2 Gig | $70/mo. for 1 yr. | $90/mo. for 1 yr. | Up to 2,000Mbps (wireless speeds may vary) |
* Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change. See Spectrum Internet disclaimers.
Internet Gig and 2 Gig plans give you the biggest discount, but not every home needs gigabit and faster speeds. The 500Mbps plan equates to around 12 devices streaming 4K content simultaneously, whether they’re wired or wireless, so Spectrum Internet Premier may be all most homes need until 8K content streaming becomes the norm. Gigabit and multi-gig speeds are ideal if you want to download large files superfast, like digital video games and their huge updates.
Is your home already wired for internet?
If your home already has cable or fiber internet, all you need is the Express Connect Kit at no extra cost to you. Getting your internet up and running is easy—just connect the provided equipment, like the modem and router for cable internet, and follow the activation instructions.
Homes that need internet installed or relocated require professional installation for a one-time fee.
Select the right Spectrum WiFi service for your needs
Selecting the best plan is only the first step. Spectrum offers two optional Spectrum WiFi products—the added cost depends on what you choose—if you don’t want to purchase your own standalone Wi-Fi router or mesh system. Take a look at the pricing:
| Plan | Advanced WiFi | Invincible WiFi* | Total WiFi cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spectrum Internet Advantage | $10/mo. | $20/mo. | $30/mo. |
| Spectrum Internet Premier | $10/mo. | $20/mo. | $30/mo. |
| Spectrum Internet Gig | Free | $20/mo. | $20/mo. |
| Spectrum Internet 2 Gig | Free | Free | Free |
* Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change. See Invincible WiFi disclaimer.
The Spectrum Internet Gig and Internet 2 Gig plans offer the biggest Spectrum WiFi discounts. We talk about the differences between Advanced WiFi and Invincible WiFi in a separate, detailed comparison. But in a nutshell, Invincible WiFi includes 5G backup internet and a backup battery accessory, while Advanced WiFi does not. However, both include a Wi-Fi 7 router for the fastest wireless speeds to date.
Get a discount on Spectrum TV, too
Spectrum originated as a cable TV provider under brand names like Time Warner Cable and Vision Cable, so it’s ideal for local TV programming hands down. Generally, there are no limitations on local TV channels from Spectrum, unlike third-party services like Hulu Live TV and YouTube TV. Take a look at the different Spectrum TV plans:
| Plan | Price* | Channels |
|---|---|---|
| Spectrum TV Stream | $40/mo. for 1 yr. | 85+ |
| Spectrum TV Select Signature | $100/mo. for 1 yr. | 150+ |
| Spectrum TV Select Plus | $110/mo. for 1 yr. | 160+ |
| Spectrum TV Platinum | $145/mo. for 1 yr. | 230+ |
* Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change. See Spectrum TV disclaimers.
If you want a channel lineup without all the cable TV bloat you’ll never watch, then Spectrum TV Stream is the way to go. It includes:
- A&E
- AMC
- CNN
- Disney Channel
- Fox News
- Hallmark Channel
- HGTV
- And more!
Plus, you can watch Spectrum TV Stream on any device that supports the Spectrum TV app.
Meanwhile, TV Select Signature adds the following:
- Comedy Central
- Discovery Channel
- ESPN
- Food Network
- HGTV
- INSP
- Hallmark Channel
- HISTORY
- Lifetime
- TLC
- MTV
- And more!
The TV Select Plus plan throws in Regional Sports Networks, while TV Platinum includes everything in TV Select Plus, along with Sports View, STARZ®, and Entertainment+ (which combines Entertainment View with HBO Max and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME®).
As noted in the table above, you get a discount with Spectrum TV during the first year, but the discount doesn’t cover any add-ons and premium channels you choose, like Entertainment View and Sports View. Here’s a list of the premium channels you can add:
- HBO Max (all plans)
- STARZ® + STARZ ENCORE® (all plans)
- CINEMAX® (all plans)
- MGM+ (all plans)
- Paramount+ with SHOWTIME® (TV Stream excluded)
- THE MOVIE CHANNEL™ (TV Stream excluded)
When you add premium channels, you can view the content through the Spectrum TV service as part of your total channel lineup, or through each service’s respective standalone apps—simply choose Spectrum as your provider and enter your Spectrum login credentials. You can also set Spectrum as your default TV service on streaming boxes like Apple TV 4K.
The first set-top box or Xumo Stream Box* you get from Spectrum is free to use when you bundle internet with TV (more on that in a minute). Traditional DVR and Cloud DVR are free to use if you have the Internet Gig or a faster plan.
* See Xumo Stream Box disclaimer.

| Spectrum Internet | 2 yrs. | |
| Spectrum Internet | 3 yrs. |
Keep in mind that Spectrum Internet comes with one free line of Spectrum Mobile® Unlimited for the first year. However, if you bundle two or more Spectrum Mobile lines with Spectrum Internet, you’ll qualify for the Spectrum Savings Guarantee*. We provide the details in a separate report, but the bottom line is that, if your total savings are less than $1,000 over the first year, Spectrum will apply monthly credits to your Spectrum bill until you reach $1,000 in total savings.
* See the Spectrum Savings Guarantee disclaimer.
Looking to switch from AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon? Here are the Spectrum Mobile plans you can bundle with Spectrum Internet:

|---|---|---|
| Unlimited | $30/mo. Per line when 2 or more lines are ordered | $40/mo. |
| Unlimited Plus | $40/mo. Per line when 2 or more lines are ordered | $50/mo. |
* Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change. See Spectrum Mobile disclaimers.
Spectrum is the best for pairing TV with internet
Spectrum is your best source for local TV, if it’s available in your area, and your only other options are live TV services like Hulu Live TV or YouTube TV. Based on our experience, third-party services often have technical issues when it comes to streaming local TV channels—you get the best viewing experience by choosing Spectrum TV.
In addition to excellent reliability, Spectrum TV includes many of the streaming services you probably already have and love, like HBO Max and Disney+. As we’ve shown here, Spectrum TV is an awesome alternative in terms of value if you’re currently paying for these services along with a third-party live TV service.
To save the most money, we suggest ordering a new Spectrum Internet and Spectrum TV bundle online. Plus, you may rack in extra deals that are only available at your address, so push for the maximum benefits you can get out of Spectrum when you order.
