We used to be CenturyLink and now we’re Brightspeed, both are a joke. They say speeds “up to” 80 mbs but that is an absolute lie. We have lived here for almost 10 years now and the fastest speeds they say we can get is 4mbs. That is not a typo, we get 4 and that costs me $68 a month. They tell me year after year that they are working to upgrade speeds but that is just another lie. Unfortunately for us, they are the only company that provides wired internet to our location. Mediacom doesn’t go past the justice center and don’t get me started on Hughsnet and other satellite providers. That being said, why would Brightspeed work to upgrade our internet when they can charge a fortune for sun-par internet service. They’re crooks, plain and simple. If we weren’t forced to have internet due to my wife working at home, I’d tell them exactly where they could stick it.
