Greenville Residential Internet Coverage

Greenville is a large, well-educated city with a lot of activities for both college students and year-long residents. The majority of residents work in white-collar professions, primarily office support, sales and teaching. On average, residents are middle-class, but nearly one-third of residents also live at or below the federal poverty line. The students and residents rely on internet connectivity to further their education and careers.

CenturyLink provides DSL to 97% of Greenville residents. Cable internet reaches 95% of Greenville homes from Suddenlink Communications. Fiber optics are not yet available to area residents, but they can choose satellite internet from HughesNet.

Business offerings include those offered to residents and two fiber optics options. Level 3 Communications and MCNC each offer fiber optics hooks ups to 1% of commercial enterprises.

Overpriced. Take forever to get someone on the phone. Raises prices or ends promotional prices without notice, but likely in fine print. Only use them because there is not other high speed option at this time.

Worst internet service provider I've ever had. Terrible internet, will hit you with BS charges, and quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. If you try to cancel your account it will probably take you over an hour to get ahold of someone but if you want to add a service you will be answered immediatly.

Suddenlink monitors and counts every byte that leaves your home or site, then bills you for anything more that a family of four would use for their computers and wifi devices. This is the first provider in over twenty years that does that, and we can't wait to get rid of them as our provider.

Suddenlink takes advantage of their customers by promoting speeds that aren't really available, while not allowing you to switch plans (you can, but your price stays the same) once you realize you've been dooped. Many hidden fees and upcharges that come out of nowhere. Overall just a scammy business. Their service is meh, and their customer service is even worse. They are trained to give you the run around until you give up and pay them whatever they want.
