Fort Smith Residential Internet Coverage

As the second largest city in Arkansas, it should come as no surprise that Fort Smith has plenty of internet service options for its residential and business customers.

Perhaps one of the most widespread options in Fort Smith is AT&T. AT&T is one of the few companies that offers more than one type of service. Their DSL network reaches nearly all of Fort Smith, excluding parts of Hackett and Bonanza in the south. The fiber network is a bit smaller, although still well-established in this region.

Thanks to CenturyLink, a handful of Fort Smith neighborhoods have access to high-speed internet coverage. Southern neighborhoods that fall into this service area include Hackett, Bonanza, and Enterprise. Northern neighborhoods that enjoy CenturyLink service include Oak Park and Midland Boulevard.

Cox Communications is an established internet service provider in Fort Smith. Service is accessible in all of the western neighborhoods in Fort Smith, but it stops short of Meandering Way and Massard in the east.

Ricky R | 08-31-2021

I have not used at&t but when prompt to chat with live agent I asked the question of low income internet service for seniors. After awhile I was told and email address to go to or to call a certain number. I went to the link they provided and was told error. Then went back to the chat and informed the agent about the error on the link provided and she said I'd have to call the number to ask them about getting internet for the low income seniors. I guess it just goes to show where a company will stop at assisting low income seniors.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
