The robust economy of Goodyear is attracting upper-middle income residents to the area, many of whom are building their own homes. It's also one of the most expensive communities in Arizona. The blue- and white-collar workers who call Goodyear home work in office support and sales roles. Residents are well-educated and diverse. Nearly 27% of the population is of Hispanic or Latino descent. They rely on their internet services to connect with the community and advance their careers. While just 88% of Arizona has access to high-speed internet, 93% of Goodyear does.

Cox Communications is the only cable internet provider in the area, reaching 93% of Goodyear residents. CenturyLink reaches 92% of residents with DSL and 1% of residents east of Perryville Rd. CenturyLink is the only provider of those services in Goodyear.

In addition to the options provided to residents, Integra Telecom reaches 43% of businesses with DSL. XO Communications brings copper wire to 11% of Goodyear commercial users. Level 3 Communications is an alternative fiber optics choice for 1% of Goodyear businesses.

Steven Hauptman | 2014-06-30

CenturyLink has been reliable for low to moderate internet speed connections but has failed in the area of high speed WiFi usage as we found out when we installed ROKU in our home. Since installing the streaming device, we found that download times are much slower than when we view online directly. Thats a huge problem, because we can't all crowd around the computer to watch favorite shows that should be streaming hassle free to our HDMI configured TV's. It doesn't happen always, but it happens enough to cause us to begin searching for other internet providers for relief.
