Technology Type

DSL:

DSL provides internet service via phone cables and is up to ten times faster than dial-up service.

Cable:

Cable provides internet speeds faster than DSL through the same cables used for cable TV.

Satellite:

Satellite internet is widely available, but offers slower speeds due to a far-traveling signal.

Fiber:

Fiber relies on glass strands to relay digital code and is much faster than both DSL and cable.

This is the absolute worse service I've ever seen. I regrettably signed a 12 month contract with them. I've had the service for 5 months now and I don't think I've made it a full week without loosing service. I have probably had over 30 technician visits since the service was half ass installed. I know I've had 12 technician visits in the last 3 months. They all came to the same conclusion, the cable coming from the pole to the house was bad and needed to be buried. When the very first technician came to install the service he said he couldn't do anything till the cable was buried. Then 2 days later Xfinity sent another technician out and he hung the cable from the main power line coming into the house just so I had service. He said it was illegal and and borderline unsafe but he also put in a order to get the cable buried. That was 5 months ago and I still can't get Xfinity to bury the cable. Every time it's windy I loose service and Xfinity just keeps billing me for it.
