Asheville Residential Internet Coverage

As one of the largest cities in North Carolina, Asheville is called home by over 88,000 people. This city is one of the landmarks of western North Carolina. Cable, DSL, and satellite internet are offered by several major internet service providers in this region.

National service provider AT&T is widespread in Asheville. Service reaches Lakeshore Drive in the north, Hominy in the west, Arden in the south, and Azalea in the east. Furthermore, it extends beyond the city limits in all four directions. The fiber network isn_t quite as large as the DSL network, but it is still fairly sizable.

Those who choose Charter may be able to use their service anywhere in the city. The Charter network extends to cover neighborhoods like Royal Pines, Beverly Hills, Oakley, and Sulphur Springs. Local provider Morris Broadband is growing in North Carolina. Currently, service is accessible in the southernmost tip of Asheville in areas like Arden, Oak Park, and Royal Pines.

Customer service is terrible. I had to ask for a manager to get someone who speaks English clearly. Don't let them fool you with their pricing guarantees they're lying.

We have been without all services for over 24 hours now. Everytime I call, they tell me it should be back on soon. They told me they had fixed the street one over from me and our street was next. It is now 9:00 on Sunday night, so I don't see them fixing it tonight. I am furious! If you are late on your bill, they have no problem cutting it off, but they take their sweet time fixing it! I think it is time to shop around.

Have had Spectrum WiFi for a few years…generally satisfied with minor issues. For the past three days, I’ve experienced hours-long outages. As others point out, this service is expensive. Customers deserve uninterrupted service, or at the very least, quick resolutions to their issues.

Brannon G | 02-01-2015

The speed is perfectly adequate as I am able to simultaneously stream video on my chromecast or apple tv and still work on my home computer or screw around on my tablet. The price is very reasonable, but I had to bundle internet with a land line in order to get my monthly rate for an entire year. My main complaint at this point would be that the wifi will go out for a minute or so every once in a while, which can be quite an annoyance. All in all a good service, but not withouts it's issues.
