Lying just outside of Washington DC, Alexandria hugs the borders of Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland. As a major metropolitan area, it has many established local and national internet service providers.

Those preferring the speed of fiber internet often choose Verizon FiOS, although this provider_s network is currently limited to the northern and southern edges of Alexandria. Covered northern neighborhoods include Alexandria Wrest and North Ridge. Those with coverage in the south include Old Town and part of Landmark.

Verizon makes high-speed DSL service available to all of Alexandria.

Xfinity has an expansive cable network in this area that reaches all of Alexandria, plus a few communities to the south of the city.

I love that Cox Communications is very reliable. They are pretty fast with their customer service and handle issues in a timely manner. I just wish that the price didn't have to increase but other than that, I'm satisfied as a customer.
