I've had cox since 2000. Their internet has always been perfect. Then they started branching out with telephone, cellphone,TV and many other forms of media that failed. That's about when prices started to surreptitiously go up and quality went down. There really wasn't anything we could do since they were the only provider and they knew that. So we've been forced to pay due to lack of alternatives. Cable TV prices in the triple digits, with bad receiver/converter boxes. I'd change out my converter box every three months. They're all refurbished and overheat causing the signal to lock up for days. I was constantly told it was something on my end that was causing it and that I needed a technician to come out. They never sent a cox tech, they always sent a contractor who had no customer service skills. Their "bundle" service was ridiculous. You get phone, TV & internet all in one from them yet when the modem would update or malfunction, you would lose all three services. You can't call them either with NO phone service. It took me at least 3 months to cancel all but one service and they kept pro-rating me. I just got tired of them helping themselves to my bank account. Although their internet was consistent and I still have it. I've found that Direct TV wasn't any better but that's a whole different review.
